Megaupload has been shut down.

This is exactly what i am talking about. There should be a civilian regulated internet separate from this internet. It should also be free and not have any way to be shut off. Maybe it can run on a frequency instead of the web. I think before anything, we as the people should have organized this a long time ago :)

Sounds like morpuse here :)

We are all just jealous of the execs and politicians. I'm willing to admit that I am, are you willing to admit that you are?

You better get use to it.
That is what is coming.... whether SOPA passes or not.

If you deal with pirated content.... you will get screwed sooner or later.

If you really agree with this statement.... then you go ahead and create the content... and share it for free....
Let' see how many millions you will go into debt... before you realize this does not work.

Because swizz beatz is a dumbazz when it comes to computers. He had no idea nor had any involvement to what was going on.
They partnered with him to have a legitimate face for megaupload.

Man... it is like when you deal drugs. When they bust you... they take everything away. End of story.
You do not want everything taken away---- then do not deal drugs.

You do not want all your servers taken away---- then do not deal with pirated content.

The estimates are not silly. 500 million is not because 500 million downloads--- there were more than 500 million downloads.
Their server costs were in the millions per year.... do definitely the downloads were way more than 500 million.
500 million comes from mathematical extrapolation.
It is as accurate as you can get.

you can not say.... well most of those downloaders would not have bought the movie.... so let's not count those.... come one... let's be reasonable.

dude, sorry, you are just silly... you talk a lot and say many words, but you have no clue what you are talking about.

Sure, only because YOU say it can not work without copyright... it can't, right? because... you are exactly WHO to be able to say that?

Do your homework... Even other artists like pdiddy, kanye west, wi.ll.iam etc just published on twitter that they like megaupload and the plans for megabox because their labels suck and keep most of their money.

megabox was also planned to let people download for free...

You are just silly if you think making money without copyright can not work? What has copyright even directly to do with making money mr. smartass?

Nothing... it's just there to protect the creators work, nothing more... But nowadays it's exploited by lawyers and big companies to make even more money.

Your name is Virus1, you hang out in a BH forum and you talk as if you love sopa/pipa and the entertainment industry, and are the biggest FBI/DEA fanboi walking the earth.

Please just stop trying to convince everybody that you are right about everything that is talked about in this thread, it's getting on my friggin nerves

PS: And to the rest of you guys who defends the us government... you fucking scare the shit out of me, you are like zombies that have no own mind.
This all is not about megaupload being shutdown, it's about the US government taking the lead and making arrests in FOREIGN COUNTRIES, OF FOREIGN CITIZENS based on US LAWS!!!!! There are more than one fucking country in the world, and it is def. NOT ok for you americans to invade whatever country you want and to extradite people without having a chance to defend themselves BEFORE.

If this was DP/WF/wtfbbq his pro-copyright hypocrisy wouldn't bother me, but this is fucking blackhatworld.

This thread is about megaupload being shut down.

It is not about me.
It is not about you.
It is not about BHW.
It is not about anyone being a hipocrate.
It is about people going to prison for copyright infringement.

It is about copyright infringement and megaupload being shut down for it.

Copyright is the law, and nothing you say will change it.

Copyright thieves are getting locked up, and it will get worse.

People can whine and cry all they want about the big bad government wolf but it does not change the fact that if you take someones work from the internet without paying for it---- then you are stealing.

And this stealing is coming to an end pretty soon.
You steal.... you go to prison. End of story.

People can argue all day about why they have the right to copy other people's work and internet freedom, but that is not going to save you from going to prison if you do copyright infringement.

The FEDS are sending the message loud and clear with what they did to megaupload.

And the message is:
If you are helping steal content in any way or form, even if you are in another country, we will come get you; And your OWN government will help us put you in prison.

It is a harsh message, but one that I would NOT ignore.

MU shutting down is about us, and BHW, and all the internet as we know it.

Yea, the feds are sending a loud and clear message, and so are you, cus your sounding like the Feds more and more

ohhhhh, now I get it, Virus1 is a fed agent? Virus1, I can swear on Jebus's life, I have never downloaded anything ever, not even a pointless WSO, or even a picture of a lolcat. I have 39 children, so please don't arrest me. :flypig:

Not being a citizen doesn't have anything to do with being exempt from the law of a nation. Its wasn't just file sharing it was piracy which is a big difference.

ahh yeah that makes so much sense

So by your logic you should be extradited asap and go to jail in iraq because maybe your nickname is illegal there?

Silly guys, really

Virus1:
So you are fine with the fact that you might end up in jail for illegally robbing ebooks on the download section of this site? Using your very own jargon: You are directly stealing other people's property. Do you consider yourself as thief then?

Youre such a clown. You just said if you download the WSOs and dont like them you delete them. That is called stealing, piracy whether you want to admit it or not

right, he indeed is, hipocrite you are Virus1

first u download something illegally then pay later if you like it.

But by yourself you're saying that the 500 million usd they came up with by using their super-sophisticated formula is absolutely correct... So let me ask you, what do you think how many people do that too? downloading, if they like they buy

all of a sudden the 500 million are not correct anymore

anyways... you download yourself, you are a hipocrite and nobody takes you seriously anymore after that

dude, sorry, you are just silly... you talk a lot and say many words, but you have no clue what you are talking about.

I own a production company. I am a content provider. My work has been pirated for years on the internet mostly on russian servers.

I know exactly what I am talking about. I have lived it.

Sure, only because YOU say it can not work without copyright... it can't, right? because... you are exactly WHO to be able to say that?

I am no more an authority than you are, so both our opinions have the same weight. So what is the point of this statement.

Do your homework... Even other artists like pdiddy, kanye west, wi.ll.iam etc just published on twitter that they like megaupload and the plans for megabox because their labels suck and keep most of their money.

You are saying I have not done my homework but you think you have done yours because you found twits by pdiddy and kanye west.
Since when does twitter qualify as a research tool or a valid source.
People get paid to post on twitter. I can pay pdiddy a couple of millions and he will twit about SOPA night and day.

Megabox might have been planning to have free downloads but that does not excuse them from all the stealing they had been a party to.
They were a day late.... a dollar short.... and are now in prison.

You are just silly if you think making money without copyright can not work? What has copyright even directly to do with making money mr. smartass?

Copyright has everything to do with making money. It stops other people from giving away your work or selling it for less.

How can you make money selling your work if there are other people giving it away for free or at a drastically reduced price(which none of the money comes to you)

Nothing... it's just there to protect the creators work, nothing more... But nowadays it's exploited by lawyers and big companies to make even more money.

You are exactly right, copyright is there to protect the creators work.
Wait a second, are you on my side now?

Your name is Virus1, you hang out in a BH forum and you talk as if you love sopa/pipa and the entertainment industry, and are the biggest FBI/DEA fanboi walking the earth.
BHW is not about doing illegal stuff.
Cookie stuffing and clicking on your own ads is fraud and illegal--- and not allowed on BHW.

I did not care one way or the other for SOPA, until I started reading the threads on this forum. There is no good argument why SOPA should not pass, other than it will bring the capacity off people to steal illegal content to a screeching halt.

People dirty the issue by bringing the "big government" has too much power into the discussion.
But there are laws, right now in the US, that allow the US to hold a person indefinitely, without seeing a lawyer or being charged for a crime, just because they are suspicious of terrorism.

That is more than SOPA will ever be able to do.

And nobody is protesting nor protested it when it came as a bill.... why?
Because most of us are not terrorist.... but a lot of us do pirate stuff.
And SOPA will bring an end to our free gifts that we get from the internet and profiting from other people's hard work.

I own a production company and use to work for MTV. Of course I love the entertainment industry.... I am part of it.

Please just stop trying to convince everybody that you are right about everything that is talked about in this thread, it's getting on my friggin nerves

Of course it is getting on peoples "friggin nerves", people do not like to hear that prison is just around the corner for activities they are doing.

The responses I read are no different than what I get from drug dealers.
"I do not sell drugs... marijuana is an herb... it is found in nature... it is not a drug.... "
6 months later..... sentenced to 10-12 years in the penitentiary ....
No luck convincing a judge that it is a "natural herb."

SOPA is going to be passes soon or later... one way or the other.
Not because Virus1 said it..... but because it is the right thing to do.

People that steal content are not untouchable anymore.... don't believe me.... ask the megaupload people.

on another note:

Keep this thread professional.

and stop making this thread personal.
This thread is not about me.... so do not attack me.
Attack my views or my opinion but do not attack me.

You want to attack me....
then fly to dallas texas and attack me face to face....
not hiding behind the safety of a keyboard and screen.

See the bold.

That's where he #failed. With 175M USD he could have lived a veryyy veryyy comfortable life for a few generations with the right investments in properties and so on. He wanted more, so thats where he failed. Had he kept low profile it wouldnt stirred the hornest's nest

Yes sir. Had he not gotten greedy and moved on....
he would be free right now.

He had made enough to retire very comfortably and more.

Also... he should of had a fall guy.

Virus1, I am also a content provider and chose to provide my content for free. It's a decision I have made and I have other plans for monetizing my work. I have nothing against people charging for their work, after all I am a capitalist and I do pay for music, movies and software. That said I think it's folly to claim that if you stop piracy revenues will increase significantly to artists. In fact; it will only drive consumers to open source and other free content venues, which is actually a good thing because frankly I think the respective industries suck at finding new and interesting talent.

Secondly, no cure should be worse that the disease. Any effort to play with adjudicating access to the DNS system via the US court system is courting disaster in terms of both corruption and censorship.

Believe me if the MPAA and the RIAA disappeared along with the movies and the artists they claim to support they would soon be replaced by free content providers. You're pissing against the tide and you want to introduce a new censorship to stem the flood. That to me a far bigger evil! I choose to live by the river.

Now out of top 10 ,probably 50% of the global internet, 5 of them can be put the same category of megaupload and shut down. Seriously shutting down megaupload would stop privacy ? If there are laws why also not shut down these ? I think this is the case of USA being police of the world just because megaupload was not paying them good taxes :D

There is seriously something else behind piracy act at this. This won't even hurt 0.00001% piracy going on the internet, bring producers 0.000001% more revenue. Seriously just think about it :)

For example i watch a movie via download and i like it. When the second movie comes i go to the cinema and watch it. It might be even a case that if there were no piracy , companies would generate less revenue than now.

Shutting down MU was just the first step. It was just a test. They have the means to do more then just this. They can change the internet as we know it.

There will be a whole lot more to come if everyone that believes in a free internet just rolls over.

Megaupload is gone....

what about all of my pirated collection?.... it's gone.

I worked hard to steal it.... hahahahaha

we are on the same boat my friend.. it has been tough gathering those assets, and they are gone.. bad, very bad...

Virus1, I am also a content provider and chose to provide my content for free. It's a decision I have made and I have other plans for monetizing my work. I have nothing against people charging for their work, after all I am a capitalist and I do pay for music, movies and software.

That is great that you provide your content for free. It is even greater that you have the choice to provide it for free. But at in the end, it is and was your choice.

I on the other hand have chosen to license it.
I should have the right and choice to license it at whatever price I want to. Sadly, I don't.
I have had people tell me that they will not pay my price because they can get it at a discount on a site on the internet. Strange because my company does not have any affiliates where you could license my content.
As always it turns out those sites are selling illegal copies of my content.
Content that I worked hard to produce and that I invested money.
Content that only I should be making a profit from, so that I can recoup my investment and hope to GOD I can make a profit.

That said I think it's folly to claim that if you stop piracy revenues will increase significantly to artists. In fact; it will only drive consumers to open source and other free content venues, which is actually a good thing because frankly I think the respective industries suck at finding new and interesting talent.

It is human nature to want things for free, to try to avoid paying for things.

If we find the things we need or want for free.... there is less of a tendency to pay for them.
If there is less access to stolen content that we really need or really want.... there will be more of a drive to give in and buy it.

I deal with talent directly.... there is an abundance of talent.
Returns on investments is what is low.... and that is why most projects get scrapped from the get go.
Ending piracy will put those projects back into good ROI numbers.

And I am not talking about hacker/crackers/etc... there will always be people that can circumvent the system. But those are the minority.
I am talking about your average joe.... the one that use to login to megaupload and watch pirated material till the end of time....
That guy will pay for content, if you make prison a consequence to pirating.

Secondly, no cure should be worse that the disease. Any effort to play with adjudicating access to the DNS system via the US court system is courting disaster in terms of both corruption and censorship.

This is the only thing I am against with SOPA.
They should not mess with the architecture of the internet.
I wrote this on another thread.
But trust me, they will remove that item and resubmit the bill.
I just believe SOPA will pass onto law... maybe not as SOPA but as some other revised bill with another name....strapped on to a do good bill.
Something that cannot be brought down.

Perhaps if they responded to more of their DMCA complaints they'd still be up like hotfile, and several others.

.
according to this bill any site which enables or facilitates will also become a copyright violator.. that means all the youtube ,facebook, google will be fall in to this category.. and BLACKHATWORLD too ..

do u want to live in a world without Google, Facebook ,youtube, Blackhatworld ??

If SOPA passes,
Google will adjust and keep on going.
Facebook will adjust and keep on going.
Youtube will adjust and keep on going.
BHW.... what do you think.... it will adjust and keep on going.

People need to stop raising crazy statements.
Making impossible end of the internet scenarios.

These website and 90% of the website will adjust and keep going.

Do you really thing that Google and youtube are going to just close shop... and go home.

No they are NOT. They will adjust and keep on going.
