what would you do with a domain micrsosft.com?

Hi. Times by times we buy stuff we don't need. That was my case some time ago. I bought a domain http://micrsosft.com

In normal case I would drop (bin it/not renew) the domain, but

Google Backlinks: 677
Bing Backlinks: 1,650,000

so, hey - what would you out on it?

It's just a matter of time they will come after you for it anyways.

I just abandoned a domain that included iphone in it after trying to blog it for almost a year. I heard a colleague's story about being sued for having an unused domain that included the word Facebook and that was all I needed.

the domain doesn't actually contain the word Microsoft, so you have nothing to worry about because they can't do shit based on that. The only way you could get in trouble with that domain is if you used it in a way that tricked customers into thinking you are microsoft or are affiliated with them in some way. Just don't do that and you'll be fine.

Ah but they have only to 'say' you did. And if they want to make an example of you (even though you are 100% right here) they will. Take the previous advice and disassociate your name from the domain, 301 it as long as you can.

M$ will eat you alive. I'd just ditch it myself. I wouldn't even try to make money out of it because then you open up the possibility of damages for your profiteering off M$'s brand.

It doesn't matter that the domain doesn't actually contain the word "Microsoft" - if M$ were to sue you then the legal fees alone would bankrupt you, even if you eventually won. This is why it's a bad idea to seek legal advice on message boards!

Give free security updates (with one or two extra binaries bound to them) to install... The source seems trusted, so no reason why it wouldn't work to make massive bank.
