As I proposed to myself, this year I want to totally organize everything. I will talk about that in another thread and let you know something cool, but regarding to the title, which one of you uses LastPass.com and thinks that this is one of their "biggest discoveries"? :o I think I might stick with them because it is a real hassle to remember all the passwords for all the sites, forums, emails and so on. The concept of this site seems for me pretty cool and it's totally free to use on your computer (but you can pay 1 buck a month and use it on you mobile phones too). So, hows your experience with this service?

I've been using it for about a year now - love it and cant live without it! I also it on my android phone. Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed.

Having all my passwords on an external website and risking of losing everything, no thank you.

I can create a simple software in 15 minutes to do the same exact thing. This tool will run ON my computer and I wont risk anything.

Good point - here is one way to avoid losing everything.

"What happens if LastPass disappears?

As long as you have logged into the plug-ins you would be able to export all your passwords, even with LastPass completely gone - this is possible because a locally-cached copy of your data is stored by default when you use the LastPass plugin.

To use any of the exporting options you can go to your LastPass Icon > Tools > Export To.

LastPass Pocket is also offered for backup access on your USB/portable drive.

You can also re-import your passwords back into the Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox password managers.

That being said, we're spread across 2 data centers, 2 countries, and have a team of people who can each run the service individually - and we have no plans of going anywhere."

Great....
3 months from now... on the front page.

Last pass website compromised..... millions of passwords stolen..

I have been using lastpass for 6 months now and can't spend ten minutes on a computer without the plugin..... I have over 200 saved sites... lol

How hard is to remember alot of user names and passwords? Id rather memorize them, then trust a site, that has already been hacked.

I've been using them for a year. I really like the service.
I won't lie, I'm pretty scared about trusting my entire online life to one company. I make offline and online backups of my database every now and then.

The best part is that LastPass saves your login information every time you create a new account somewhere and can autofill and autologin.

It becomes rather difficult when the passwords are 12 characters, with capital letters, lower case letters, numbers and symbols. :)

I am too paranoid to use something like this. I use an excel spreadsheet I keep on an encrypted flash drive :)

Been using it now for a few months and like it a lot!

I've got a TON of pen-names and NOTHING ELSE that I use for logging into all my social sites, so "IF" even those passwords got out, oh well! Nothing really important to gain from them anyway because again, they're just ALIASES/Pen Names!

I don't store my bank details or anything I deem 'sensitive' to Lastpass, as those few dozen bookmarks I can remember on my own!

But I do agree that anything stored on someone else's PC/Server, isn't always the most reliable and will, one day (Money Permitting...LOL!) get my hands on RoboForm!

last pass is awesome, been using it for a while now and love it, it bugs out occasionally but hey, its free!

Easy to remember, compatible with most websites these days. I don't see the problem. Just go through and update all of your passwords to that today.
