How many backlinks to move from PR1 to PR2?

I have told him all about the valuable posts done here. He will act accordingly.

I have an ad sense site with 36 original pages in the compuer repair niche. The site is three years old and has 1800 + backlinks to the main URL, and a few hundred spread through out the rest of the site.

The Home Page is PR 5, and most of the internal pages are PR 4.
Most content pages are very targeted and have 700 + words of all original content written by me. New pages typically rise up a PR level every 2 to 4 months, so a new page today will be a PR 4 by next Christmas, perhaps by the fourth of July. I am going to add a page on Jan 1 just to see how it rises through the ranks next year.

Domain age play a huge role here... I have a business website which is practically static from 2007, just time to time something is changed. It has barely any links... PR5 ... Then I have IM site, 200 plus pages of original content, lots of backlinks - but just 6 months old. It is PR1. Age play more role in PR things that most people believe.

not really
PR will also means you need to build good content,if you had 25 pages of original/700+words long pages that will be enough for PR2

contrary, a site with 3-4 pages will hardly get any PR....

I disagree . I have a site with 2 pages ( articles ) and PR2

Thats an interesting thing to me. I will like some more examples of age factor though.
