How many backlinks to move from PR1 to PR2?

I have a friend whose site has PR 1 right now. He is building backlinks by forum posting and blog commenting but still he has PR 1. Is there any no of backlinks to be reached to get to PR 2?

not really
PR will also means you need to build good content,if you had 25 pages of original/700+words long pages that will be enough for PR2

contrary, a site with 3-4 pages will hardly get any PR....
 
Try to build backlink on high PR blogs. Surely you can see the changes. After PR update

Depend upon his back links if he build power back links then his PR will must be change after some time may be after 1 or 2 months

Creating many backlinks are not enough you have to use on page and off page SEO. On page is more easy and get higher PR like me.
 
You need to wait for the next PR update. Maybe it is already PR2 but it will be shown only after PR update.
 
No one can tell with 100 % accuracy;there are many factors to be considered!
 
I have got very great replies here. I admit that backlinks do increase PR very fast. I will tell him to do this.

He will need at least one PR 2 backlink. Ideally many more of course but all that is required is at least one decent PR backlink of that PR or higher. Also just because he gets one PR 2 blog comment or something does not mean he will automatically become PR 2 next update, otherwise everybody would be rocking PR 6 sites.

He needs to concentrate on getting backlinks from High PR pages (not just the domains). Typically, if you can get 35-50 high high PR page backlinks you have a good chance of obtaining a nice PR for your site.

On the last Google PR update, I had several sites go from PR0 to PR4 ( and couple to PR5) with this type of strategy. Most of these sites were in the 5-10 page site range.

Of course, I used as high of backlinks as I could find (most in PR 4-6) and I built these manually per site.
 
i had a pr0 website which was opened 6 mon. ago.
I updated it daily with 3-4 videos with uniqe content and i also bought a link from pr2 site.1.5 month ago its pr moved to 2.
 
I've used high PR backlinks and it moved me to PR2 in no time.
 
One of my old sites was PR3 and had 34 backlinks, this question is unanswerable.
 
No need to stress over PR unless you runa Blog network!
