Are you using Firefox or Chrome?

Then add Stylish as an addon

Restart your browser. Go to

http://userstyles.org/styles/browse/facebook

and select the theme that you like.

If you need to change some things, then edit the style manually. I'm not sure if you'd be able to change just the status updates though. It'll change the whole window.
