For achieving high PR 5 or 6, you need to do really hard work on both on-site and off-site optimization for the website. You need to increase pages within the website through valuable content and create more and more backlinks.

The PR is increased by using backlinks. Even better if your links if from high PR, if you don't have any high PR Backlinks, forget about PR.

Absolutely! Google the 'google pagerank formula' and understand how PR is created. Volumes of pages create PR 'juice', which is then passed via hyperlinks to other pages. The more pages and links, the higher the PR.

...But this is very misleading, as this would imply that volume is everything - when it most definitely is not. The web is like a vast tree of links. A link from a PR 4 pages carries a lot more weight than a link from a PR2 page,and PR is not a flat-line gowth. It's about 1:10. So you'd need 100 x as many PR2's or 10x as may PR3's to equal a PR4 in effect. But that's only a way of thinking about it - it's nowhere near that simple in reality.

Plus: Why are you worrying about PR? I have PR1 sites (very low) that are #1 for very competitive terms.

Ranking is Money: PR is Ego.

It's been proven time and time again that there's very little correlation between PR and it's ranking effect. PR is just a way of approximating the juice value of a domain, if all other factors remain constant (which they never do!)

Well I do understand you. I have a lot of customers who are always happy if they don't only maintain to get a good ranking, they also like to see a PR increase.

This is the way I get them PR4 in the next PR update:

I am setting up about 40 Blogcomments on pages with a real Pagerank of 4 - 7.
I have a list of about 50 low OBL blogpages with a PR that high.
None of the sites I did this for got a PR lower than 3 in the last update. Most became Pagerank 4.


You may try one of the blogcomment services form BHW but those ususally don't have that low OBL you need for getting a high PR quick.
