Anyone know what happen to TemplateP2P

TemplateP2P was a p2p forum that started out as a private membership for trading templates. It soon grew to a large community and built out to include scripts, graphics, applications, and more. It was a forum which would be aimed towards developers, web designers, and such.

As for the SEO i don't know what you're talking about, they had a SPECIFIC section for SEO so maybe it's been a while since you were on there.

I know they do (most of the posts in there are me). I meant it in the sense that I meant finding design resources here. There's some.. There's not MUCH. And most of it is outdated, chopped up stuff you can find everywhere else on the internet.

On the TemplateP2P twitter account there is some hardware issue with the server.

With that said, the site has now been down for 4 days. Nothing takes that long to fix.

I manage many linux boxes and it shouldn't be a 4 day problem even rebuilding the entire RAID array, something else has come into play here.

I actually had a server go down from a major provider and it was down for 4 or 5 days. It was considered the type of thing that didnt happen .01 % out of the 99.99 % uptime.

It was crazy. Happened just a few months ago as a matter of fact. Host gave everyone on that specific shared server comped month.

What took so long was the restore process

For those of you designers, I've been using Google reader to subscribe to GFXtra, Script-Mafia, CRShare and BoyGJ RSS feeds. Then I just search my reader and 90% of the time I find what I'm looking for.

But hopefully TP2P comes back soon..

If you don't mind me asking, How are you doing that?
Google Reader? Then you subscribe to those other sites? Do they have a lot of After Effects templates like on TP2P?
I'm gonna google "google reader" now and try to do this. Thanks

Yeah, just subscribe to their RSS feeds through your Google reader. Then you can search through your RSS items (their sites). Not sure about AE, don't use it much.. I know GFXtra is starting to get more and more AE stuff, though.

I had an idea that it might be worth creating a closed group on facebook to discuss the development of a successor to TP2P.

"Closed: Anyone can see the group and who's in it. Only members see posts."


Considering the lack of anonymity, I can see where some might be hesitant. On the other hand, the fact that people can't hide behind a forum name makes it a little more of an honest discussion and endeavor. It's easy enough to make it secret...

"Secret: Only members see the group, who's in it, and what members post."

Plenty of people can be made Admins so there's no single person controlling things.

Thoughts?

Active? Yes. I was a VIP there but too many issues to bother giving my money to an Admin who can't find the time to activate VIP memberships.

Admin [Dec 19 | 01:17:02 AM]: Then as soon as we get it back online...We are getting DDOS'd...So we've been moved to their more secure BGP part of their network. They claim this will help mitigate bad traffic from affecting our server.

I am a lifetime VIP of TP2P and although I didnt post much I did frequently use it and share some of my own items...

I see the site is down again, hopefully it comes back up or someone can start up a new similar website...
