Hey there boys and girls,
I've been in offline and sales for a long time, and before providing Mobile solutions to businesses, we offered a wide range of services (we still do).
I know how to be successful offline, so I'm going to start sharing tips with you in this thread
(If you need a viable service to start off with, read this thread first: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...mobile-marketing-offline-ask-me-anything.html)
Tip #1:
- Focus on providing one service in your area (For example, Mobile Marketing) Once you have a meeting with a prospect, and you sell them on that ONE service, you will need to start DIGGING.
Digging is one of the most important things to do in direct sales. When digging you want to build a trust relationship with your client getting to know their REAL problems in their business.
For example, you want to find out how their online reputation is, you want to find out how their website looks. You want to always HELP your client, and make them feel like you're there to HELP Them, not gouge them.
So after a little digging, this client you just closed a deal for mobile marketing on has told you the following:
1. "I have 6 "1 star" ratings on the first page of google for their business name."
2. "Some guy designed my site, but has been nothing but trouble. It's still not done!!"
3. "I've searched for my site and it's number 9 on google for the restaurants name!"
So bam, now YOU have just heard he that these problems worry him.
1. Reputation management
2. Web design
3. SEO
NOW, don't walk away from this thread just yet because you're saying "I don't know how offer these additional services." I'll explain how in a minute.
Now that you've dug into the problems for that client, you need to present yourself to the client as if you're there for him, you WANT to help him (Which if you're trying to get paid, you should always want to help your client)
You tell the client something along these lines:
"Listen, I've got set prices on Mobile marketing that you agreed on earlier, but I can and WILL fix these additional problems. As the price varies per project listed, I will write up a quote for you, and bring it back within 48 hours."
By now, your client is feeling extremely relieved.
Now that you've left, you're saying "HOSTIE?! How the hell am I going to offer these services to my client?! I've never done this before?!"
Simple. Outsource. As soon as you leave your clients, you need to go home and start digging for outsourcing for SEO, Web design and reputation management.
Even though I suggest reading 7878's threads about rep. management, which you can find here.
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...housands-passive-income-managing-reviews.html
It's extremely easy. You can find most of the work here on BHW for SEO and even web design.
What you will do, is after you find a good source to complete the work. GET THEIR PRICING!
Once you have your outsources pricing, (Make sure it's not too high to begin with) this is how I would price it in the past when I had to outsource
1. Webdesign Mark up 100% (Essentially double what it costs you from the freelancer)
2. SEO Mark it up 300% (Essentially 3 times what it costs you, because most small businesses will only need a few linking packages.)
3. Reputation management mark it up 100% (Which there is no reason you couldn't do this your self just by reading 7878's thread.)
That's all for tip #1. Outsource, outsource, outsource. Never let a project be too large. Never NOT have a solution for your clients.
Be their one stop shop, so to speak.
I built a whole company (Which now has xx employees) from the ground up and I did nothing but outsource work in the beginning.
IF this thread doesn't make any sense, or you have questions post 'em here and I'll do my best to stay on top of it.
