Have you read what the OP has said? He knows how to make money online. He knows how to make a living from it and will continue to earn money from autopilot methods but he doesn't want it to be his main income source because it is too unstable. If you have been in this two years then you know that he is right, that the income is unstable. He is not a failure; he just doesn't like the instability of the business model.

The difference between the instability of an offline business and an online one is vast though. Offline, if your business fails it will take you years to rebuild. If a site you are banking from changes the rules, you can be up and running again in a week. Offline, you won't experience those setbacks as often but they will be devastating. Online you experience them frequently but if you know what you are doing they are not devastating.

actually i must agree. Im in offline businesses and investments too...and i must say offline biz actually is more sustainable, although at the same time harder to achieve.

Dizz, It's a realization that I need a change and I do not enjoy the biz module any more. I feel like it's a continous "hustle" instead of building a business. Every week some company changes their policy and I have to adapt. Is there loyalty online? Not like offline. Don't get me wrong i am not saying anythign stupid like "ythe int is crap or dying, or there's no money etc....I wish I owned a Gogole or Facebook or Ebay etc. There's a ton of money in it and will be for the time forwward.

Also, Is it healthy to be on your own on the computer 6+ hours day? I do not think so. And do not get me started on cyber rage, business practices over the Net. Customrs who wouldn't say "boo to sheep" al lof sudden sending hostile threatning B*S* emails. So brave behind a screen. It's my personal choice. I am out. I didn't get into bizz to take advantages of Loopholes in G or Facebook that last a week or to learn backlink spamming so i can cheat my way to the top of the S.E's etc..Slow, steady growth is what I want.

Once a month I see one of the threads go and quit like any other job when you get mad equipment we get discouraged you quit that just makes you somebody who does not have the ability to push yourself beyond your limits and better yourself. In my opinion you're not putting enough effort into it or you just tired of doing it but either way you just quitting if you have another skill in another job lined up go for it which can just put in two or three hours a day and think you're going to get rich and live off of it this is a job like any other job you only get out of it as much as you put into it and I'm sorry if this seems harsh I don't mean to insult the Op but to me you only get out what you put in

I think you have answere why though. Becasue it's harder, slower, less "loopholy" LOL it needs more commitment etc but like you say when oyu get there it's much more stable.

I have gone from $20k+ month to - $2,000 and all the way back in the last year alone. I may as well play Black jack.

That is a fuck load of competition. Let's say you wanted to start a hot dog cart in your area. What is your competition? MAYBE another hot dog cart? It's pretty obvious who is your competition when you have a physical biz.

With IM, even if you did a find an untapped niche, thousand of competitors could be vying for your spot within a week if the word got out. How many hot dog carts are going to be descending on your neighborhood at once? Changes with Google are only part of the problem, the entire internet is doing it on a regular basis - now add every kid who gets out of school and is looking for a job and has a computer and has all the time in the world. It's a real fucking bitch.

You can do what you wish but from a guy who has managed brick and mortar businesses and also operates a family biz that is no different from what you are describing online.

talk about daily challenges and issues? Yesterday we ran out of lettuce it was so busy, we were short staffed and our supplier was running about 3 hours late. 2 days before for some reason our plumbing backed up meaning we had to stop operation for a couple of hours till the plumber could come out and fix it.
Produce cost vary every week, sometimes daily so our profits get cut into almost all the time, 3 months ago we did some price changing and had to spend the next 2 weeks explaining to our regulars why we raised our prices in this economy.

we had to terminate an employee 4 days ago, a new competitor opened up 6 months ago down the road.

My point is we all have to make adjustments and changes based on what we foresee and we also have to react to things you do not.

Maybe you are spread too thin, why dont you select the thing that is easiest for you and gives you some revenue and just scale up instead of trying to do 100 different things.

IM is NOT a business, its a game, and sometimes it has cash flow (for a while) and sometimes it doesn't.

A business is something that can be built up over time, has real assets that can be sold to someplace other than flippa and that has staying power for the long term so it might even be passed on to another person. IM meets none of that criteria. Its like playing in the black market. If you went to the bank and disclosed your internet business they would laugh you out of town and wouldn't even count on it. No assets, no business plan other to jump from one method to the next, scammers all around, accounts getting banned, affiliates confiscating funds, competition from everyone in the world with a computer and you could be out of operation with the next google announcement. Anyone that calls it a business, doesn't know what a real business is.

Giving up 10 years of work sounds like a waste to me, you managed to build up a nice reputation along that time, use it. You could simply outsource the work you don't want to do anymore, and use the extra money to fund your other projects

Working as a self-imployed is always unstable. It doesn't really matter if you're working as IM, or own a mom and pops in your hometown. You're always relying on others. The mom and pops too relys on customers that come in and buy stuff. Imagine what happens if walmart suddenly decides to build a new store straight next to the mom and pops. Mom and pops goes broke. And there's not really something the mom and pops owner can do against it.
But I do understand you, it's just not for everyone. Maybe a 9-5 job is your thing. Nothing wrong with that.

I think its good to have this post. After all you only hear how GOOD IM is,
and as people have been saying how much money you could make. You need to hear the other side of the story, from someone who has done it, and can tell the newbie like myself that its not so easy.

Don't give up. In IM, stay positive is very important.
Even in working life, we feel like quiting too when you work for too long.
When you feeling like give up or tired, just take a break for a while like go for a tour.
