They simply don't understand how I make money "just like that" from the internet! One person actually asked me to show him a $100 note as if I get $$$ notes through my Indian bank and stack those bills inside my table drawer after I get paid from my overseas clients.

Then, they want to know how I am able to deliver work over the internet... some of those guys and gals only look at their orkut(!!!) or watch songs on Youtube, or open an occasional yahoo email.

A friend has actually preserved millions (well not that too many, lol) of spam emails almost religiously, and on top, he has actually opened and read most of those from top to bottom!
Talk about Paypal and even my banker isn't convinced that Paypal exists. Most Indian online workers would agree with me when I say that our Indian bankers don't know that there is indeed an online thing called Paypal!!! Well, most indeed have a FB account though and they seem to be deeply engrossed in finding if they have received any comment/message from a friend!
I live in a small but very lovely town, but I have noticed such e-ignorance even in bigger towns and cosmopolitan cities!
P.S.: Once I was explaining to my friend how a work is done and sold over the internet, his better half -- in more sense than one, wisely pointed my printer to her husband and said that when the buyer sends the money to me, I would easily print it out from my printer -- she made the whole concept of making online money so simple!... I almost choked to death then as she revealed her cool and awesome wisdom... Not to blame her because she has been in awe at how easily she gets money through the ATM's slots and how easily she can hand over her debit card at the BigBazaar counter. hahaha
Another one: a friend always reads an online newspaper daily, 4-5 times a day, and he once told me how great those newspaper owners are because they are saving the trees from being cut down to manufacture paper. He told me that he wants the government to make it compulsory for the newspapers to be online ONLY and the printed form should be banned. And the newspaper and the internet should be free so that the nation can save the valuable natural resources (trees) -- end of all eco problems! I sincerely agreed with him wholeheartedly as he insisted that the internet should be made completely free just like the TV is, and radio was (so that the ISPs don't charge us -- his logic: if radio was free and the TV is free, why we have to pay to get internet connection? A very valid argument)!
The point is:
Once they ask me about my online work and I start to tell them, they will stop my speech and begin to tell their own stories about their internet experience... and I allow them to divert and speak a lot (about whatever) so that I don't have to explain a lot.
