First... Yes you can promote clickbank products without your own website, that's the foundation for Bum Marketing. With Bum Marketing you'll do article marketing, but rather than using it for backlinks to your website, you'll write good presell or review articles including a link directly to the offer sales page, and submit those to article directories and web 2.0 sites like squidoo, etc. The cool thing about doing that is there will be no financial cost involved for anything.
The bad news is that you'll still need to get traffic to those pages. Luckily you can optimize your articles for the right keywords to get some them to rank with very little backlinking. You'll still need some backlinks though, but you can accomplish that by choosing one of the article pages as your main page, and then include a link to that article when you post other articles. Article sites won't usually let you link to a competing article, but there are many free blog sites where you can create a blog, post the page, ping it and forget it. Same thing with wiki pages, web 2.0 pages, etc.
That's where you're question comes into play. Picking the right keywords that you can rank easily. When you say "balbaba starcraft 2 gaming balbalbalbalblablblalblbabl" if what you mean is using related keywords like "sci-fi, starcraft ii, strategy, multiplayer, entertainment, starcraft 2" then no, that type of keyword use hasn't worked for years.
If you mean using longtail keywords to target microniches, then yes. That's exactly what you need to do. Especially if you're not going to use your own website. Don't think of keywords as words, what you'll actually be using are phrases. If you don't have a keyword research tool, then just use the
Google Adwords Keyword Tool for now. So you'll want keywords like "how to play starcraft 2", "best strategy guides for starcraft 2", "how to win at starcraft 2", etc. (Those are just example ideas, you'll need to do the research to find some good ones.)
Just try think of things someone might actually type into the google search bar, and check to see what the search volume is for those terms. Try to find some longtail keywords that get between around maybe 1500-3000 exact searches. Once you have a few good keywords, then go to google search and type them in to see what the top 10 competition is. Once you've decided on the best keywords then include them into the articles you write. Optimally you'll want to target one article for each keyword because if you use the keyword in the title it will probably be used in the url as well. So you'll get urls like agoodarticlesite/best-strategy-guides-for-starcraft-2 which will help a bit for getting the site ranked. Then create other articles or free blogs using "best strategy guides for starcraft 2" as the anchor for backlinks to that first article.
(It's a lot easier to do all that keyword research with a good keyword research tool.)
You can also promote clickbank without a website by just promoting it on social networking type sites as well. Just post comments like "I found this really great place to get the best starcraft 2 strategies" or something like that and include the hoplink. This usually isn't as effective, but if you have lots of friends interested in that niche then you might have some luck. Same thing applies regarding forums as well.
One last thing to consider. A lot of the articles you write and post will be permanent. In other words there will be no way to go back and edit the url if you ever need to. Even on the sites you can (like the free blogs), it's likely that you won't remember them all anyway. The problem with that comes in the case that either the product you're promoting goes away, or you're getting a lot of hops but no conversions.
You want to have a way to easily change your promotion to another offer if you need to, without losing all the work you did for it. That's easy to do if you have your own website because all your promotion is for traffic to your website, and then they're clicking the hoplink on your page to get to the offer. Even if you don't have a page set up on your website, you can set up redirects so that all the links are made to your redirect page instead of directly to the hoplink.
You can't use services like bit.ly because they won't let you change the target url after you set it up. If you use bit.ly as a link shortener it's fine, but you still want it to target a redirect page that you can change if you ever want.
What you can do is search out free hosting sites like freehostia, atspace, or similar to set up a redirect page on. (Just make sure it's one that doesn't use ads, or require you to participate in forum or anything else like that. You want ones that are TOTALLY free with no catch). Set up a free account using one of their free subdomains, make yourself a simple index.html page to look like you're really hosting a site, and then set up a page like best-strategy-guides-for-starcraft-2.html containing just this code between the <head> and </head> tags (use your own hoplink though. lol).

Also, If you're not sure about the keyword researching part then just do a search on bhw for "keyword research" and read up on it a bit. I didn't go into much depth, but you can find out all you need to know by reading a few threads about it.
So the main way you'll get any of those article pages to rank in the serp and bring in traffic will be the same as for any other website. 1.choose low competition longtail keyword, 2. optimize your article for that keyword, 3. make backlinks using that same keyword as anchor text.
To get traffic without relying on the search engines, use social networking sites, forums, etc. to promote the hoplink (or your redirect page) directly.
