What is Panda after?

Everyone that thinks that the last Panda update is all about "quality" or that it's even "finished," I'll strongly have to disagree with you. Sure some SERP's have gotten more relevant, but try searching google for "how does homeopathy work" and you'll see that the first result is a page that hardly has anything to contribute to the web: http://www.howdoeshomeopathywork.com/.

In fact, I've seen tons of crappy sites with little to no content outranking content-rich sites. I seriously doubt that Google is done.

Yup. I see a lot of people complaining that sites that stole articles off them are actually outranking them. Their algorithm is far from perfect, and there is many who feel that feel like it got worse in many areas.

I'm trying to deduce what is going on by watching websites in my niches that are actually increasing SERP results within the last 3 weeks.

However, I cannot for the life of me find any that are at least not in these ultra competitive niches.

Google botched something up good.
About 3 weeks ago I dropped about 30 huge pyramids to a site (millions of links each to 150 web 2.0s... 30 times) google quickly boosted the site to better positions on the keywords, but all of the keywords stalled on page 2... now the site just sits there.
Was hoping that allowing time would have google indexing everything, but nope.

Also shoved about 1000 PR3+ ******** links to it.
Far and away this site has a greatly superior backlink structure to most of the top 10 sites in these niches... yet no increase in SERPs.

I'm actually so curious I've opened about 5 more domains in this niche to boost using various "common sense" methods prescribed by SEOers here and will attempt to do the same thing and see if it is more or less random, or if google has destroyed pyramids.

I think it's all about users experience.

I've lost around $5k/month with this update and it gotten me crazy. I've realized I wasn't focused on the user, but on the search engines and links. It's all about users and on another hand it's all about Google. No traffic, no money.

I've analyzed tons of websites that have been hit and most of them haven't recored from 28 September, most of them felt back even more. They will probably not recover until Christmas or next year in march or so, but same people keep reporting their websites recovered.

Anyone experienced with deleting entire website, changing it's design theme and then getting back ranked again with new articles? Or moving to another server?

Yeah, I haven't seen any change to my site that was hit on September 28. The ones that were hit on October 13/14 have been all over the map. Some have recovered and are stronger, many have not recovered at all, and some have done a partial recovery or full recovery but I can't gain any more ground in the SERPs than what I had before. One more site got hit on the 25th, which you said was another update. If you hadn't said that I would have just thought it was normal dancing since it was just one site.

This one is bewildering. A lot of my MNS are set up exactly the same way, yet some are hit and some are not. I'm not seeing any correlations or reasonable explanations (despite the many, many speculations). If it about user experience why are so many crap sites still ranking? There is so much about this Panda update in particular that still doesn't makes sense.

Nothing about this update makes any sense.
Whatever google has done has been a very negative thing for search engine integrity. It has also hamstringed any SEO efforts either white hat or otherwise.
Everything is still seemingly locked into place (at least the top 10s)

Google doesn't seem to realize this, but the harder and more stringent they make the top 10s on competitive niches (ie. taking extreme SEO effort to get there now) the more and more lucrative it will become... as your position will be nearly insurmountable to newcomers.

It should be about user experience, but Panda is not over yet. I'm seeing first, second and third page full of crappy EMD with no useful content ranking for tons of terms. It should be about user experience, yet those EMD's with no useful content getting hundreds, even thousands of users per day.

It makes me think why so many people report getting all their websites Panda (if using the same IP, server, VPS or something like). Other people reported deleting the website, re-doing the content and starting over again.

I didn't go so far as moving my site to another server, but on one of my sites, I changed the design, the titles, the descriptions, and the url endings on secondary pages. It is doing better than it was before. But I don't know if that is coincidence or what.

I noticed a panda update today, a blogspot that i had given up on because I couldn't rank is now ranking #3 for two primary keywords and #1 for another 2 primary keywords! The blog had been floating around pages 3-5 for over a year and now has jumped to the first page all the way to the top! Definitely seems google is favoring itself, will see if it last, doubt it though, but will cash in for the time being :)

Are there any published documents or statements by Google or somebody else near/dear to the G fringe that can offer solid facts on what is going on?

This whole thread is just speculation, which isn't a bad thing as I would consider it a starting point, but it would be nice to see some concrete data and/or figures.

It seems that blogspot blogs took a big jump yesterday, but as I saw, every time this happens (about 2 weeks ago happened again) a new Google Panda update is in the making.

Any thoughts?

My one site which escaped all the panda updates just got hit this morning... I really want to know what google is doing...

Yep, something is happpening. My two sites dropped from #6 to #12 this morning at the same time.

My panda affected site on 28th Sept. dropped (16th>24th) this morning for the main keyword too. Maybe it`s a good sign...I don`t really care cause that 16th place does not mean crap either ways.

I'd love it if you would elaborate on why you think so. Thanks!

Based on observation. A lot of sites still outrank Amazon but if u see other authority sites like aboutDOTcom, it gets harder to outrank them. Just my opinion.

I think they're increasing the weight of branding in their algorithms. I dunno if that's such a good thing though. :S
