nice to ti ...............
As far as I read out the rules, bumping old threads may result to infraction or ban? Goodluck to you freestuff
HotelsCombined is a complete rip off for affiliates, I started with them, sites started getting good traffic, but what I was making was a pittance, maybe $20 per day.
I moved away from HotelsCombined and I started to make serious money, and I mean serious.
Let me give an example:
For a HotelsCombined click through on a certain site I got around $0.20 for a click through. I switched to another hotel affiliate program for one week to test the water.. I was gobsmacked!
I was getting $20-60 per booking, with a lookers-to-bookers rate of around 5%, so per 100 site visits, around 66% of those clicked through the affiliate links.
Per 100 visitors to my site, I was getting around $13 from HotelsCombined, per 100 visitors with a direct affiliate site I was getting anywhere between $50 - $200.
I was actually in quite a rage, since when I signed up it said I would get 70%, 70% of what exactly?
You don't get 70% of anything, if they are a preferred affiliate of a company and get 10%-12% of the total booking value, a hotel booked at $1000 should net you $70, but it does not, it gets you a dollar if you're lucky.
I didn't say anything to HotelsCombined, I just left quietly, took my business elsewhere and became a preferred affiliate myself.
I'm not going to give away the name of the sites I'm affiliated with, but I'll give a tip:
Look at the sites that HotelsCombined gets the prices and rates from, join their affiliate programs directly to make sure you get paid fairly.
P.S. That jargon HotelsCombined give about being paid instantly it complete rubbish, they often pay affiliates late, if you get commission on the 1st of the month, you won't get paid for six or seven weeks.
I just spend alot of money to advertise them, hope i wont get screwed this thread scared me lol.:cussing:
