last year i made some mistakes in my business and now when people google my domain name those mistakes are coming back to haunt me from forum post in the serps.. the domains are not very strong .. so does anyone have an idea how to get other pages to show up instead? i started article marketing with my domain name in the title hoping those articles would show up on page one for my domain but im looking for a full proof method.. anyway?

Not sure if it's the best way, but build a lot of pages that rank higher and bury the old stuff deeper in the search. Most people probably won't run across it then under normal circumstances.

Generally the easiest strategy is to rank some web 2.0 properties (articles on third party sites, some social bookmarking submissions, maybe some yahoo answers and a youtube video). All you have to do is make about 10 things targeted for the search term, most web 2.0s naturally rank well and throw a couple backlinks at each and they should outdo an old forum post that nobody is doing any SEO work on.

i like the noindex tags.. how can you do that in a vbulletin forum? plus the viagra might not work as if it did everyone would do that to other sites!

Create a linkdin page, twitter page, facebook page, squidoo lens, hubpage even, maybe an ezine article and a few press releases and get all of those ranking higher than the forums. As wowhaxor sugested, add yahoo answers and a youtube video and throw a few links at them all and your pages will dominate the front page.

Definitely do not take that suggestion, the last thing you want to do is throw any links at these existing pages. I'm telling you the best way (and the way reputation management professionals do this) is to instead rank positive things ahead of the existing negative. It is very rare people will dig back more than a page when researching you especially if you get the whole first page full of positive stuff or at least the absence of negative so just 10 web 2.0 properties will do the trick for ya.

LBrown also has some good suggestions I didn't mention, facebook, twitter and squidoo are also great places that will take you 2-3 minutes to create a page targeted around the search term that will naturally outrank these forum posts with little to no extra work/backlinks.

Also I'm nearly 100% positive you will not be able to inject a noindex tag on these pages, simply putting that html in a forum post will do nothing as it must be in the header.

Resolve the problem if possible. Talk to the posts owner/site owner to find out if there is a way you could fix your mistake.
Or buy some blog posts from private networks.

No don't ever post links to a page you want to drop in rankings as it will have the opposite effect. You may not give them much of a bump but you definitely will not make their rankings drop.

ok 24 hours later im looking good already.. i blasted a few articles to about 900 directories yesterday.. i had my .com and name in the header and body. a few of them are showing up on page one now. so since they are at pageone . i am going to bookmark them so make sure they stay at page one. thanks all for the good ideas.. my squidoo page did not show yet but hope it will soon

Don't just bookmark them backlink them too.
