Flipping Q&A - ask me whatever you like :)

Not really... it would depend if you could find a buyer in the industry. Traditional website investors might pay around ~$5k based on the past profits, but your best bet would be finding someone in the niche who wants to build on their portfolio.

Thanks for the reply. I read some of your old posts and I see that you buy and sell websites for profit. Would you be interested in the website in question? I can send you the url, income proof and other details if you are still flipping websites.

Hi I have a question -

how old should be the site if a person wants to flipp it?

Thanks for answering my questions meathead1234. Can I message you and discuss about something related to site slipping? I think I have a potential site to sell, and I need your expertise. I hope you don't mind.

meathead would you say you need a decent capital to start flipping ?

how did you get started ? -- i made $50 on a quick domain flip but that was lucky i think

you need around $250 at least to buy a decent site and do it up - i did buy killer fliping secrets -- but havent manged to get going -

I started around 2 years ago, and I think I had around $100. $250 is absolutely plenty.

What price range sells the best of Flippa ? Are there more people buying sites that are worth hundreds or that are worth thousands?
Has anyone ever tried to utilize a nulled template to create the sites you sell?

$100k and under is probably the optimal price range. Anything in the $XXXX range tends to be very popular.

I don't use nulled templates, if you are making a lot of sites you can probably just get a developer's license as you'll get caught out eventually using nulled.

Hey man,

So I have a niche website; the keyword has around 1600 exact match searches, around $1.20 CPC. Anyways, the site has been up for exactly a month. I just got the site to #1 in the last week, and earnings have picked up to about $5 - $10 a day (Adsense). All organic traffic.

Is it too soon to flip it? If so, how long would you personally recommend I wait? And how much do you think it could go for (given the current revenue)?

Thanks!

Try to have at least 3 months of revenue proof. More the merrier :)

That seems like a good idea. Thanks :)

What do niche sites in the range of mine usually go for? 12x monthly? 14x? More?

Depends on a lot of factors, that there's no way to give you an exact multiple. Can vary anywhere between 2x and 36x...

Whats the best "current" way to protect yourself when receiving payment via paypal? does sending a cd in the mail still work well? Also, is there any easy way to transfer the website to someone? like backup buddy or something?

The CD in the mail thing doesn't work too well anymore. Best to get paid via Escrow if you can (it's a bit more expensive, but much more safe).

There are tons of tutorials out there on transferring sites :)

Thanks man. @the hosting, Lol sorry bro, I realized after I posted my question that I could of just as easily googled it. Get impulsive sometimes.

P.S.

I really want to sign up for your flipping course and forum, is the forum still pretty active?

Oh also... one more. When you purchase the featured option, is it better to do it from the beginning, in the middle, or towards the end of the auction? Do they garauntee you that it will be on the first page for a set amount of time?

Depends how big the site is. On large sites ($XXX,XXX) I'll do it almost daily. On smaller sites, it's probably best to do it with about a day to go.

Your auction will stay on the front page until you get bumped off (usually about a day).

Thanks man. You live and learn lol, I had been drinking and got impulsive and did featured at like midnight in the middle of the auction haha.

is flipping sites worth it if you only understand basic platforms such as wordpress? ive been looking into this and eventually i want to make a living off of it, but building good websites seems difficult if you dont know php, ect.

Flipping - absolutely! My business partner is completely useless when it comes to php or even (above basic) html and advanced wordpress functions, and yet he was making quite a bit of cash before we partnered up.

That said, I personally don't consider building sites from ground up to be sold later flipping - this is something entirely different and something that's rarely worth the effort even if you know everything about everything. If you're interested in my opinion on this then check some other threads in this section - I've opened my mouth about it (and explained why it's rarely profitable) many times over so won't repeat myself.
