How good are Social Bookmarks for SEO? Do they have any value in the eyes of Google? Should I blast my site with bookmarks and will it help me rank higher?

Social bookmarks are in MY opinion a good way to get your site indexed, direct traffic and some linkjuice.

I say some linkjuice, as in my opinion most of them have a redirect on their site so you wont benefit too much from the PR+ thats behind it.

yes social bookmarking is good for SEO, you should do it. not in excess though.

Based on my experiences, the traffic is mostly crap from these sites. Conversion is zero or near zero.
These people are browsers, not buyers. But for indexing, link diversity is ok.

You are so right. I experienced indexation in like 12 hours after doing some SB to one of my sites.

Just thing about you submit 50 articles to article directories and do 3 Link Pyramids and then you SB all these links. In the end all the PR juice will flow to your main website.

social bookmarks are just one facet of link building, they should be included in your mix like any other kind of links.

I wouldn't go mental ordering loads, but if you havent, sign up for a free onlywire account and use the ones on there. Usefull site.

I have heard they get the PR juice flowing but diversity is key. Having a diverse source of quality incoming links will get the juice going also. I usually bookmark my new articles or content first thing when I get done putting it on the page. It gets it indexed fast and if you have a silo structure you can rank pretty fast this way too.

This is true, social bookmarks are a very good way to get quick white hat links. I would only bookmark once a month, maybe twice a month at most.

Aside from getting back links I'm sure it will help you get good traffic. Just remember to submit it to top social bookmarking sites

I use Rivers 1,000 sb service all the time. I never see traffic from sb orders I place, but I see serp boosts big time. I usually land on page 1 or 2 after doing an order on a virgin site. So very useful
