It certainly isn't riches but bloody hell is enough to support me and my lifestyle. And on top of that, I wasn't in rags to start with because I have a badass day job that pays extremely well, but hell, it sounded catchy.
Most of the crap I read here and there are just nubs repeating noobs repeating retards. There is no magic formula. There is no secret to Google. Google is a big a** company and the algorithm is frickin' complicated.
Here is my story and what I've learned.
Website and Types
My goal is passive income. In order to earn passive income, I need to be hands free. That means I can either hire someone to write content for me or use crowd-sourcing. I prefer crowd-sourcing as it is free. If you don't know what crowd-sourcing is, look it up.
What allows for crowd-sourcing? Easy, forums... Like this one. In fact, I'm doing harro a favor right now by posting this guide, I'm adding content to his site 100% free. There are other types of crowd-sourcing platforms as well such as question and answer sites but Forums are by far the biggest and easiest. Much of what I say will be in regards to forums.
I do have a blog that is fully automated - not autoblog/robot blog, but automated by real writers. It gets a ton of traffic as well but it had a considerable cost associated with getting the content and it still does which sucks. Again, I recommend forums.
You can create a forum about any topic. People are passionate about everything. You don't even need to know the subject but it certainly helps if you do.
Getting Content Keywords that rank easily
I like to steal keywords.
I goto competitor sites and then check their Alexa. Alexa has the keywords that the Alexa users use to reach the site. If the site is still high in Alexa, it is generally easy to steal searches for these keywords. I don't copy it word for word, but I take the keyword and either write it myself (in the beginning) or pay someone else to write it.
You'll also get content and easily ranked keywords for free once you grow your site large enough to crowd-source (if you take this path, young grasshopper).
Time Frame
For me to get a site up and to an acceptable level, it takes 6-12 months. Success is typically 5,000-20,000 UVs per day.
It is important to take your time if you intention is an authority site that you want to last. I've banned a couple of sites so far down in Google I just ditched them all because I was impatient. Trust me, just wait and be persistent.
SEO and Outsourcing
I use the Clusterf**k SEO method. It is a method where you use quantity over quality for backlinks but mostly do deeplinking. Search it up for more.
Outsourcing. I try to outsource everything. As I said, I have a great 9-5 job and all the money I earn from websites goes back into websites (all $4,000 each month). What do I outsource?

Link Building
Posting on my Forums
Posting on Other Forums
I've found a team of people that I've had on hire for over 12 months. I pay every Friday, usually $20-$50 per person.
When it comes to link building, as I said, use any method possible but also find your own methods. Think outside the box. Hire people to FIND links for you.
I also am a big fan of signature links. I have over 300 forum accounts with 50-150 posts on each, every one containing 3-6 links.
I have a guy that I use who creates these for me. These work so much better than Profile Links and they actually get clicks, if you are looking for traffic too. If you want his listing, just ask.
How Many Hours do I work?
On websites, all of my free time. I hope to replace my day job with this soon but I need to be hands free, like I said.
Services and Sites used
I read a ton of books about Google and I always suggest reading actual books. Not these crap ebooks that these nubs who have been doing SEO for 2 entire days write. I mean books that are actually written by writers and sold on sites like Amazon.
Blogs like Google Official Blog (important to read), SEOMoz, etc
Forums like this one, WTF, V7N, Warrioforum. Forums are great but you have to heed through the nubs. They are also great for signature links like I mentioned above.
For outsourcing I use Scriptlance mostly (easy to post, easy to pay), seoclerks, fiverr (these are mostly crap jobs) and various forum marketplaces (mentioned above).
Software I use is Bookmarking Demon mostly. I have ZennoPoster, Scrapebox and Scrapeboard but I rarely ever use them except for when backlinking my backlinks (described in the ClusterF**k method).
For pinging I use Pingfarm but formerly used PingDevice.
Parting Words
If I had to say one thing to you as an IM/Blackhatter I'd say: "Persistence and dedication is the key". Keep at it and you'll succeed.
Ask me anything and press the thanks if you find this helpful in any way. If not, f**k you.
