Becuase basically you are saying that everything is fine...people are just lazy...so i guess all the jobs data is wrong...and by the way, when you hear that unemployment rate, its bullshit...its more like doubled that. There are two sides to this argument as there is a social and economic equillibrium that must be upheld in order for any society to work. Where do you make your money? I bet you need people to buy something in order for you to keep your job or hustle...The fact of the matter is that no part of our economy is an island and you need to think a bit wider than just you vs. the lazies.

Wouldn't a one week notice give the NYSE time to prepare themselves for an attack? Plus the FBI and Homeland Security are probably working with them,so that when the attack occurs they will be able to track down the perps.

Oh and somebody mentioned their facebook attack, I got in a big fight with a friend over it and supposedly it was to happen october 6th I think.
I'm not up on the whole wiki leaks stuff, but why do these boys warn anyone of an attack?? As ex-military it's a fucking stupid thing to do... I think these guys spend more time sabre rattling than anything else, all the warnings are also way out so they get loads of long press attention.

I do think the personal shots Jonny made at you were uncalled for, but I think he hit the nail right on the head with his comment about unemployment in this country. Not saying that EVERYONE that doesn't have a job is lazy, but you can't argue with the point he made about millions of Mexicans pouring into our country and finding work without even knowing any English.
If an illiterate, illegal alien can find work in this country, then why can't the "educated" college graduate? Even if it means taking a job doing something you dislike, at least it's puttin money in your pocket.
The real problem here is people that are unable to think for themselves. They think they just have to get through college, get some piece of paper known as a degree, and that they are automatically entitled to a job. That mindset comes from people feeding them that bullshit their entire lives, and then when they realize it doesn't work that way, it's too late.

I am not advocating laziness or "not hitting the grindstone" but yet we bail out wallsteet firms and corporations...all I am saying is that i think there is a point to be made that of all the help being passed out, poor and middle class people are not really the biggest cry babies. Fact is that 45 million Americans are functionally illiterate and the jobs that they can even really get are not on-shore anymore....Its not such as simple problem in my opinion.
I guess I am just worried that we are all being very short-sighted in our judgement because although money has shown to "trickle down", I think we can all see that poverty can "trickle up"

I think the idea of the "educated" college grad or really anyone for that matter being able to find a job simply by lowering their standards is not so cut and dry. It is a catch 22 type of problem. While the supply of jobs requiring a lower skill level or education level may be available, a lot of them will turn these folks away because they are "overqualified", etc. similar to the problems older more experienced folks encounter when they are downsized out and forced to retrain or seek other employment. It is not so simple. And there are not necessarily as many of those jobs out there as one might think, depending on where you live. Of course then you could say well they should move to where there are more jobs, etc. and thats a valid point, but that costs money too.
I also think the argument of illegals/Mexican migrants vs. local labor isn't so simple either. The folks employing them are not going to take a local college grad over one of those workers. They like the illegals because they are hard workers, don't complain, keep their heads down and their mouths shut and get the job done. I know a guy who tried throwing a college grad out on a crew of illegals to try and harden him up before pulling him into mgmt, and the college kid couldn't keep up, bitched and complained the whole time, and questioned everything. Maybe this reinforces the laziness point, but either way...they can't get the jobs the illegals are doing because the people employing the illegals don't want them.
All that said, I don't think this economic situation is going to get any better any time soon, and I think the jobs situation is currently worse than being presented in the media and will continue to get worse. I think the problem is people have no plan, no concept that it could happen to them, and no resourcefulness. As online marketers, I would venture to guess a lot of the folks on BHW are the opposite in that we're resourceful and always thinking of and trying new methods. The problem is that most folks in America are not programmed by society to think like that. They are followers/sheeple not leaders.
I judge the economic progress on the ground, by how tight corporate budgets are day to day. And at least in my business personally, they are still very tight, many of our bigger customers are seeing major downsizing occurring still, and nobody is spending like they were a few years ago. There was a brief period where it relaxed a little, but right now its just as tight as it was when this whole fiasco first started. Besides the fear of possible economic domino effects, there are also unresolved policy issues that companies are waiting to see play out before they proceed with a business strategy.
The scary thing is on Friday I heard one of the business beat reporters on the talk radio station I listen to in the car, and he was painting this rosy picture everythings looking great, there's no double dip recession on the horizon, jobs numbers are great blah blah blah. And there are a lot of people out there who will eat it up and believe him. That's whats scary to me, is that nobody's calling out all the numbers games for what they are. People will eat this stuff up until they figure out they've been lied to. And then they will get angry. Really angry.
In the end, if they wanted to make a better statement, there are better targets than the NYSE website in my opinion, but I guess they are going for the publicity? Where do these anon folks come from anyway? I mean, if what they say is true and they are decentralized etc., then doesn't that mean anybody can take it upon themselves to say anything they want and claim to be affiliated with them? Someone must be coordinating things and the PR effort?

Actually that was never the plan, as facebook is the best way to spread the information. Some people spread the wrong information for some reason. The plan was to spread posters across facebook pages.
I have no idea of the current plans against NYSE, haven't been paying attention.

This is just pure lols to me. those kids are some of the biggest ass-clowns I've ever heard of. Can you imagine the kind of money that could have been made with the db's that they claim to have accessed. There would have been millions upon millions of active email addys that could have been harvested for any numbers of campaigns. As far as them taking down the NYSE goes I don't think little botnets are going to be able to ddos (as someone said earlier if it were that easy it would have happened by now) and go somewhere with that weak ass SQL inject. I somewhat feel bad for kids like that but then I also think what dumbasses, they have all that knowledge and 90% of the time when one of them gets raided he's living in mommy's basement.
