Would backlinking benefit YT Videos?

I'm a newbie to back linking and marketing in general, I know back links help create better SEO for your sites, but would it be worth creating some back links for youtube videos and if so how much does it improve their discoverability

I would like to know this as well. I have heard some success with the help of backlinking youtube videos although some claim that backlinks don't help you at all. I've tried blog commenting but it just doesn't help...
Could someone give an exact answer for this topic?

From my experience a lot of it has to do with your video, it's easy to rank good organic content that already gets a lot of views, comments/likes/shares etc just by tweaking your basic seo on the video title/tags and description. This goes for both google and youtube. Youtube seems to favor the videos that have most views... big surprise...

You can try buying views and comments and such from fiverr to game it a bit but I personally haven't had much success with it.

From my experience it's best to have something decent to start with - a good quality funny or useful video that people will actually like. Do your keyword research via googles and youtubes keyword tools and title/tag your video appropriately.

Some people recommend buying reddit upvotes and diggs, and if you can actually get this to work for you and land on the front of either of those websites than you're pretty much set, but these services can get expensive and don't always guarantee exposure and results.

The other thing that's simple and useful from more of an seo perspective is doing a social bookmarking blast. If your video is half decent and people respond well to it/view it then buy river's sbb from wf. It's worked well for me.

When someone searches for a topic on Google, if it is a topic that is popular on YouTube, there will be some YouTube videos on the first page, your video will be higher on these results if you have backlinks to these videos, however on the other hand, when someone searches for your topic on the YouTube search bar, backlinks will not help any, what you need then is to get (buy) more likes for your videos which will raise the search listings on YouTube search results [but not Google's]

food good seo on video and higher ranking you shoud try the video marketing blaster because tags and titles are what ranks videos but if you wanted to use a video to dominate google with a video try uploading a video to vimeo and backlinking it hard the video will last longer there

From my experience backlinking videos DOES help. I currently have the top listing for google search "forex program trading" which is a youtube video I submitted to digg only days ago. I also have another youtube video on the first page. The 4 top bookmarking sites in my opinion are:

1)digg
2)stumbleupon
3)delicious
4)reddit
