Who and by what methods is anyone going to be able to get thousands of dollars cash physically off of EC for a $1k reward?

maybe go round to his house and have a cup of tea with him and ask him nicely? or maybe i pay back half the cash of $$,$$$ from my own funds for a $1k reward?

Please be realistic otherwise i could as easily say i will pay $2k cash or $4k cash to someone who can (magically do the impossible and) get everyone's money back!!

its very easy to be the one responsible for getting the money back. atm robin seems to be the man spearheading it. just because you dont manually take the money from eriks pockets and hand it back to us, you simply have to be the one responsible for gettnig it back.

So you are saying for $1k someone will go through the process of serving him legal papers and seeing the very long (months/years?) process and paperwork through to conclusion (with no guarantees) for a reward of $1k?

Anyway, i will stop there (going off topic) and hope people get at least some of their money back which is the main point of these thread....

You'd be surprised the lengths people will go to when they feel they've been wronged enough. Either way, though, there's no point in contaminating this thread with criticism of BTB's generously offered reward. If nothing else, it can be seen as a gesture of interest in seeing some sort of tangible retribution for those who were scammed.

I do hope the people who have been slighted are able to organize and take action. There's been a lot of "good" members turned scammers lately, and I think seeing something physically done for a change might help deter future scammers from the forum.

forums log IP's. IP's are linked to ISP's and can also be traced to local router. pinpointing down to the neighborhood he resides in.

admins (and mods for many forums) can see the IP's, i'm not sure about this websites TOS and rules of privacy but if we could get the IP thats one step more to narrowing the search down.

I think that this got brought up earlier and the mods said that they would not release that information. I could be wrong but I thought I remember seeing that somewhere.

On another note, I took some people's advice and I completed a dispute through my bank. For the time being, I have received my money and $300 has been put back into my account. I do not know if this is permanent or if this is just temporary while they try and get my money back. So anyone who has not tried this, I would suggest it, especially for members from the USA. It may not work but it's worth the effort.

your US based i assume? Can you tell us what bank you were using and what you told them? that would help out greatly in disputing transactions

as for the IP thing, not to be threatening the forums in any way, i understand its privacy rules, but those can be waved with proper action and the information can be gotten if we actually start following through lawsuit actions

What I find hard to understand is that Erik seems to have put a lot of time into this type of behaviour. He could have set up something legit for the same amount of effort.

He once sent me a pm after I'd wished him well when he had a cancer scare, his pm included an 'offer' that had alarm bells all over it.

If the content of my pm could help anyone who's suffered losses then they are welcome to it.
