i think putting link back to your site in wikipedia will help for good SEO and traffic. Is thr any way out to do that ? please post your findings on the same so that a good strategy can sort out

You can put links in "external links" if your site got some really good information on that topic.
And yes wikipedia links are pretty good.

wiki admin usually kick links, i m just trying to find the way to convince them. or make a strategy

If you plan to just link-spam Wikipedia, they'll put an end to you real quick.

Make sure you aren't spamming Wiki with worthless links, they simply won't stick.

Try and create something of value and link it accordingly, those tend to stick better and moderators will let it slide.

three years ago one of my competitor managed to link to their homepage in wikipedia for the main keyword I have

so I promptly used one of my existing pages and added a content that WAS MISSING in that wiki page to the page on my website.... I did some historical research on the issue covered by the keyword to add something relevant that is missing on that wiki page

then I paraphrased in abbreviated form what I wrote on my page and added it to wiki and cited my page as source

it stuck as a link to my site for over 3 years now

-- besides historical research on the subject you can also search news and perhaps add newsworthy article on the subject, paraphrasing receing events or happenings on your site, citing sources on your site and then wiki it

nofollows do have a value.... in G's eyes. My theory is that G also tracks and counts "mentions" of your domain name, "Mentions" are not links but say if there is a viral thing and everybody starts mentioning ... I saw this on "fox news" or "foxnews.com" or have you seen what "fox news" - those "mentions" contribute to the overall score.... so If you can get a large number mentions all over the web it will help. Just my theory, but If I was designing the algo, I would certainly incorporate this.

I have my wiki linked on the wikipedia page for the company who makes the game. The way I got it to stick (3rd attempt btw) was to imply it was informational and relevant (it was in fact not that latter), and it was put under external links.

I have this backlink showing up in backlink checks, and I am getting traffic from wikipedia now with a lower then expected bounce rate. The links been there for 3 months now.
