Hi,

I am asking you for your experience with cold calling as a SEO Company, which Companys do you mainly call - and which niche-Businesses do you have the best success?

Do you only call Businesses like "Private Dentists" (where is more money) or do you also target Hair Stylists and other Companys where is not so much money?

I have my sales people work the niches the are comfortable with. For example if the salesman was a former auto mechanic, I would have him focus on auto repair shops. Because of the salesman's experience in the field they have a much better chance of building instant report. If you allow your sales crew to pick their own niche they will bounce from niche to niche and make about 50% less calls or knock on 50% less doors. And sales are just a numbers game.

You can cold call any business you want. Since its common to look up a business website prior to purchasing or getting some type of service.

But, for best success try to get the owners name or someone in charged of marketing prior to calling. W/O name your almost at 90% fail rate.

Since, your an SEO company, might be good to look at there site. Then google it and see if you can find them. Then list a few companies that compete with them and tell the owner that when you google them. these companies were in listed before his.

Then ask him " would it be fair to say that, If you were listed before your competition. You business would increase" There answer is going to be yes.

Then reply back, Great!, let's talk about getting ahead of your competitors.

So, these are my 2 pennies,

1) Get there name before calling
2) Google search them

There are more I can suggest, but to much to wright. But, those 2 suggestion should start you off on the right track.

Good Luck!

Cold calling is a numbers game, so don't spend too much time trying to figure out sectors, you just need to be hitting those phones!

stick a keyword in google, then go to the 2nd page, then start calling and working back though all the serp pages.

I used to work for a big UK SEO company, and there isn't really a 'gold mine' business sector to call for seo, just call them all.

I hate cold calling. I know it works and it's a numbers game i prefer referrals or using marketing to get them to call me!

agreed. I been doing cold calling for a while. I hate doing it but it does work. So I do it daily part of my home business routine. It takes me about 30 minutes to warm up. Then I am on point after that.

A great untapped niche is Hispanics. You need a bilingual agent and pm but they are hard working and typically pay their bills. Landscapers etc. Few have websites and know nothing about marketing. This is not stereotyped to Hispanics as most biz owners know nothing. The reference was to little competition as most calling operations do not ficus on them.

Low marginal cost.

Traditional, small business sector.

Taxis, Gardeners, Instructors, Performers etc

i get cold called by companies that have scraped my whois information and there is nothing more annoying. i wish i could de-thank you

...as been said before, go to a niche and go through the list, BUT as most are not interested give them something to make them sell your service for your. End the call by offering them a big commission if they know someone you can contact and than that person uses your service. From 90% NO you will get at least a big chunk of new referals and you can start Mr. XYZ refered me instead of the usual bla bla at the beginning...
