I recently put up a website which is basically a general contracting site. I give free estimate quotes on brief description of jobs and then turn the clients over to contractors in the area at a cost.

I decided to try facebook ads, the bid is currently $0.15 and the targeting options are over 25 men and women that live in toronto ontario. I left the specific interests and groups empty as it doesn't matter and I figured I could reach a wider audience and get a lower cpc that way

this is the ad

title:"Need an Electrician?"
body:"Get your free quote today! We provide affordable electrical contracting in Toronto"
The picture is our logo

I started with a 0.10 bid, once it went active I increased by 1 cent every hour or so up to 0.15 with no results, its been at 0.15 overnight and no clicks, something like 15 impressions.

What am i doing wrong?

what the recommended cpc for your campaign? if you bid lower than the minimum suggested this may be the reason

Facebook ads suck for the purpose you presented here. Better try adwords - try bidding for "electrical contracting toronto" - shouldn't be very expensive or competitive.

I've read in all of the guides on BHW when it comes to bidding facebook throws a ridiculous suggested bid at you and a few guides recommend staying under 0.15...

Adwords won't be able to get as many clients, there arent many searches for electricians however many people need work done by them or have a project in mind but arent actively searching for contractors, with facebook its easier to reach those people because I can target a whole city at one time
