So I did some promotion to my site on Mon-Wed.

Prior to that Analytics showed 0 searches for my site for weeks. On Thursday, I noticed I got 10 searches for 1 KW

On Friday, I got 24 searches for 1 KW.

Today I noticed I got 52 searches for 1 KW.

Seems like got a gain? Does this happen that fast? Should I keep building links?

you should keep building links and it depends upon the quality and freshness of the content as the days will pass you will get more and more kW's searches. just make sure you keep building good links.
