Cat 5 Hurricane Headed For Florida

Only problem is that it's not a Cat 5 and is never forecast to get above a tropical storm

Its a tropical storm and is expected to lose steam even before FL, so yes prepare for the possibility of a rainy day but that's about it...

So, it's not heading Haiti, only Florida ?

I'm going for a weekend at my condo on Laguna Beach Saturday. I hope this doesn't spoil my fun. :( Looks like it will mostly be rain and grey skies tho, if anything at all. It's heading north.

Isn't that what they said about Katrina too?

No...

Katrina wasn't quite as big before it hit the Gulf but it was not a tropical storm expected to weaken. It was a hurricane.

To give you an idea is last years season there were 19 named tropical storms. Living in FL most of these you don't pay any attention to unless its a major hurricane with a direct path to your region of the state - otherwise usually it just means a good couple of days for surfing and maybe some rain.

you guys are missing the point of the thread :P Cat 5 network cable in the pic emily is still a tropical storm

I have a vacation house in SW Florida, I hope it's ok. :(
