Thomas(meathead) deals with sites worth 10k+ So you might want to contact him if you are going to buy a site, he's a very experienced site broker.

If you don't want to buy a site, you could try Facebook, try few hundreds on Facebook for testing, once you know more, then invest more.

But 30,000 USD , try investing offline too maybe if there is a good chance.

Its definately worth putting a few $k into Gold and silver (Physical) as you never know what might happen with your cash. As Fiat money (Cash) may be worthless the next day.

In this economy its not worth taking any risks so get a few oz's of silver and a few grams of gold

If you had 30k right now to spend on anything that was going to make you a great return on investment, what would you spend it on? I've bought domains & established websites before, but never spent over 10k investing in one particular product or website.

I've been browsing Flippa & looking to buy an established website, but how often do people get ripped off when they buy sites through Flippa for 30k-50k?? I noticed in Flippa they provide reports of the monthly revenue but there's obviously plenty of ways you could get scammed. Also I don't understand why some of them would sell a website for 30k that is generating $5000 per month, I would invest all day into this stuff if I was guaranteed that it would work. So has anyone around here bought a site from Flippa for a ton of cash & actually generated the monthly revenue that was promised when sold?

Do not buy domains or sites from Flippa.. Why not try again to invest to build websites blogs? Invest your 20K to build 50 blogs, do white hat techniques mate. Create blogs and monitize it with adsense, clickbank, amazon and CPA offers..

Your 10K left invest it on white hat advertising, do all SEO techniques.. after all the white hat techniques.. now wait 3 to 6 months and your sites will go at the Top page of Google, Yahoo and Bing.. and see the profits comings in everyday.. not only everyday maybe it could takes forever.. Why forever? Because Google, Yahoo, Bing loves white hat tecniques and its a long lasting.. Like some Guru said, build a website that could make you set and forget and collect the profits

As one of the earlier posters mentioned, most people who will give you advice have never had $30k, so take their advice with a pinch of salt.

I deal with higher end sites, but would never advise investing all of your money in one site. I invested a similar amount earlier in the year and split it up into smaller chunks and bought 5 whitehat sites with decent domains, evergreen niches and good multiples. That's what I'm good at, so that's what I stick to. You should identify your own strengths before making the decision.

Regarding Flippa, there are plenty of legitimate sales. Just do your due diligence. And if you don't know how, hire someone to do it for you. It could potentially save you getting burned for $xx,xxx.

Invest in things u are confident or u are exp with dont invest in any shit that u cant do or require thousands of $$$ extra as a outsource too.. u can make ur products open a website do seo work make affiliates , use twitter , facebook can make ur product viral in few weeks of time... there are ways for sure to make solid money with good constant return too.. To be honest u need to research , opening thread in public wont help u much to find golden answer that u are looking for....

I would invest in 100 sites and sell them after 6 months.
try to get them earn $5/day with adsense, it will be over 100k.
Or build less an bigger ones, but still same method of monetizing
