So i was testing as to whether irrelevant(porn) links can affect SERP or not.So i blasted one my competitor site with 100k live blog comments using Scrapebox with porn anchor text.Used around 500 porn keywords. The site is 9 years old and authority site.It has been #1 for past 2yr.
So here are the results after the blast.
The blast was done 16 june. After the blast site went off the rankings. On 18 june reappeared on #4.Gradually it climbed to #1.And again went off the ranking.Reappeared again at #1 and now its on #4 for last 3 days.
As you can see the blast indeed has some effect. The rankings went crazy after the blast. At one point it was deindexed as well.
So the theory that irrelevant links are neglected by google seems to be wrong.
The site might come at #1 in coming weeks which i highly doubt.
My only intention of doing this case study was to know whether irrelevant links can hamper site rankings permanently or not.
Will keep you guys updated.
