How Do SEO Companies Build Links?

Hey Guys,
Have you guys ever wondered this?

I mean they build a shit load of links that are related to the clients site. And the links they get the backlinks from all have good links built to them.

So does anyone know how they are doing this?

PM me if you dont want a lot of people knowing.
No, honestly, its really easy.

Here is what medium-sized SEO Companies do. They have a blog/website network. They have hundreds to thousands of these. They are shitty blogs/websites. They post articles on them and link between themselves and their clients websites. They are honestly really just a piece of crap. But they've invest thousands of dollars into building the infalstructure.

Yup. That's what the company I work for does. I'm not too sure how to outrank them, other than logging into their FTP accounts, and directing all links to my (soon to launch) SEO/Web Development site. Their designs are awful, and their SEO is basic knowledge of SEOmoz. With that said, they are still ranking in the money, while I'm being underpaid. *storms off*

That's more like it a know of a few companies doing this

I'm interested in this method. Anyone care to elaborate further? The blog network I mean.

SEO is SEO regardless of who is doing it.There isn't some top secret SEO strategy that big corporations use. Most of the time it is SIMPLY paid links,blogroll/footer links or contextual backlinks from blog networks(in huge quantities).

For whatever reason, Google places MUCH more value on links coming form the root(ie, http://wwww.coolsite1.com is more valuable than http://www.coolsite1.com/2011/06/My-dog-did-a-backflip), combine that with contextual links x 300 sites and you have word class SEO.

These "Blog Networks" are what separates the Big players from the guy doing SEO out of his bedroom. The cost of buying HIGH PR domains + the cost of hosting all of them adds up very quickly.Im working on developing my own network, but not near as big as some of the networks im seeing seofirms use.

And there you have. My consulting fee is $300 per hr, everyone please send $300 to my Paypal. Payment is due within 30 days.

They buy a lot of Fiverr gigs. :D

Yeah fiverr has changed the way most of the top seo companies do business these days. I mean why shell out the bucks for high priced link leasing when you can get 1000 linkwheels for $5. Not to mention you can get your company logo displyed on a nice set of saggy tits while her boyfriend does a voiceover video testimonial for you.

No offense, your post was retarded lol.
You have no idea why root domain ranks better than the a subpage? Really?
You don't think it has to do with the fact that in 99% of sites, the majority of their incoming links are to their homepage, giving it the most value? Or the fact that the majority of internal linking leads back to the root domain and not a subpage?

Please send $300 to my paypal for explaining search engine basics to you lol.

Are these blog networks generic blogs and content is auto or hand written? Is the content related to their clients or just random? All of the above?

 Feeling insecure today?

I think from news articles, and then they link back to news sites articles from their site.
Got one client thats been on news many times, it does wonders for his site when the top news papers and tv channels write about him

eh.

if anyone still cares about the OP, i have two cents!

in my company, i charge for everything, and i make money on everything i charge for, so there is no possible way to ever pay out of pocket.

if competition is high, buy backlinks & charge for it & make sure they know WHY they as a high priced lawyer are paying way more than susie who is selling cupie dolls at the corner market, me: "oh, wow, there's 50 bajillion backlinks to your top 5 competitors websites, do you know how many 50 bajillion is in SEO terms?"...client: "no, what's a backlink, what's SEO again? can you just take my money and bring me business?"...me: "SURE!"

if competition is low, i charge less, because often times with good on-site seo, and some good articles and a small amount of premium backlinks, you can rank any low competition keyword fairly easily. so no need for the big bucks.

this allows me to go after both large & small fish and make plenty profit on either one.

good luck. ;)

Hey guys this is a discussion. Everyone has their opinion. Whether it is right or wrong, its good to hear different opinions you might get something out of it.

I cant see how they have a blog network. When they are getting relevant links to the niche they are linking to. They are also getting a good amount of county orientated links. .com.au links. Now they are more expensive and require an ABN. So its a shit load of work to create a blog network of .com.au's. There has to be a way they are doing this

Honestly, the company I used to work with, which had pretty decent sized clients and revenues close to a million a year simple outsourced directory and article submission services to India + good on-page SEO. Seems to be working well for them.

No blog networks, no blog commenting or link wheels.

They do proper SEO the same way I do. Their SEOs are not noobs wasting time on forums looking for the next push-button free & easy method.

When you have cashflow and you have a budget, even a modest one, you can build lots of good links. If you know how to approach them and what to offer ANYBODY will "sell" you links. You don't have to pay money for them, you just have to give them something so it is win-win. For example you could find sites in your niche that look like crap and offer to redesign them. This might seem as a lot of work, but if you are or you have a very good web developer you can redesign a site in 2-3 days and ask for a lot (e.g. 100 links from within posts to 50 of your sites in your massive site network). There are shitloads of "out of the box" methods and they are all 1000 times better than comment spam, forum spam and what most noobs use. That's why I always say ANALYZE THE MOST SUCCESSFUL SITES!

Regarding buying links, it works great but they cost monthly so personally I don't do it that much. However there are sites who do SEO exclusively through link buying. For example huge businesses like Panasonic for example buy links. I'm not saying that Panasonic buys links for sure, I am saying companies of that caliber do. I had blogs with PR2-3 and I got contacted by SEO companies offering to pay me $10/mo for a link on a PR2 page (highly relevant to the site they were working for). I negotiated for $20/mo for the link with upfront payment for 6 months (they played hard but accepted finally and I knew they would because I knew they had huge budget). Then after like 3 months contacted me and said their client stopped using their services and asked me to remove the link after the 6 months pass, then when time was due I got an email reminder again. This is gold for us because they pay a lot for a link and that link is to a high quality site so you might have gave it away for free :). That blog of mine was a support satellite and excluding the $20/mo from that link + another $10/mo from another link it was making no revenue. So these 2 links were covering for domain & hosting and bringing in a tiny profit each year.

Aside from buying links, those that are really good build site networks like someone said here. For example the conclusion I reached after serious analysis is that manysites (including my competitors in a given niche) have bought hundreds of EMDs (exact match domains) and put blogs with 10-30 pages on them with videos of their reviews and 100 word original text + 100 word copied text from their review pages, with links to their review pages. So they made sure nobody outranks them because they own an EMD - they bought them - and also push link juice to their site not to mention the link exchange leverage that a large satellite network gives you. Even so, they were behind me for many keywords because I was doing a better job :)

Also do not neglect viral and high quality content. On an established site with existing massive traffic, quality content can increase links and traffic naturally. Some of my high quality white hat sites were doubling the number of links and traffic every year. With a viral campaign (even a shitty one) you can get to PR2 in a couple of days (the PR won't be visible in the Google toolbar but will exist as real-time PR/link juice). I made a site with funny stuff because I was getting emails with fun things from friends so thought to post them on a site since I get them. So I was posting and one day I got a funny "Windows Vista source code" image. So I posted it on my blog and voted it on StumbleUpon adding it with the title "Vindows Vista source code stolen by Russian hackers". In 5 hours I was getting about 500 visits/hour and traffic held to 10,000 visits/day for a week then slowly dropped. After that I did another vote on StumbleUpon for another post, that bought traffic as well. After 2 weeks I had like 500 natural links from various blogs, including from PR4 homepages. This resulted in my site getting a PR2 after a couple of months when the toolbar PR got updated.

There are countless ways to build links. So many that you just don't have time to do them all. Happily most "competitors" are noobs and just use XRumer and ScrapeBox and half of their day they spend it on forums looking for the next "secret method".

If I'd have to give ONE piece of advice to a friend starting SEO, it would be this:

NEVER EVER FOLLOW THE PACK!
