hi guys

I promote some products on clickbank and I have for example 285 hops for 1 product but 0 order form impressions (and 0 other stats).

1. Is that normal?

2. What is the average ratio of hops/order form impressions/sales?

3. Can this problem be caused by "an affiliate link theft"?

4. Can this problem be caused by my using bit.ly and other URL shorteners?

Thank you!

It depends on the kind of traffic you are sending...

Ya, It depends on a lot of different factors..

Is the product related to the traffic your getting? Would you buy the product? Remember "most" people aren't stupid. But yea, depending on the traffic and where its coming from is probably the main factor for conversions

That a pathetic ratio whatever the case....

try it yourself and see if you can get an order form impression, test it
where or how do you get your traffic?

if you purchased the traffic it would stand to reason, however I would expect greater hops than that even though

is it from an article? maybe your writing compared to what they see when they hit the landing page do not match?

or, the product's landing page can just be plain trash and no one wants to go futher? You gotta give us more to go on than you have, or you'll forever be clueless. You're not giving us much, then you're saying "figure it out"
  • how you get traffic
  • where the traffic comes from
  • what type of product
  • quality of the sales page
  • test yourself to see if you get an order form impression

Hali~!:)

Thanks for the replies guys.

I would not like to uncover the method.

What I can say is that the traffic is targeted. Not laser targeted, but more or less.

Next, some of the products I promote are:

ultimatewowguide(put dot here)com
jamesdean3redlightfix(put dot here)com

(I would buy myself from these pages).

So the 2 questions I am concerned right now about are:

1. Is someone stealing my orders and I am shown 0's because of that?
2. Can the number (299 hops per one product so far) be exaggerated because of the URL shorteners? I have read about it on some forums, like search engines do those hops and that's why the #s are that big and there are no order form impressions.
3. a new question is: can it be just because I have just started driving traffic and Clickbank is not fast enough to count the order form impressions?

Sorry for some noob questions.

Thank you.

I'm thinking whether you are using AMR to blast your article with aff link or not.
If so, the result is not abnormal.
I did a test like this:
1. my article -> aff link -> sale page : over 500 hop, no sale
2. my article -> link to my custom landing page (simply few lines and click here to continue) -> aff link -> sale page: less thaan 10 hop
I doubt that there is something else, not human click on your aff link.
my 2 cent.

2. my article -> link to my custom landing page (simply few lines and click here to continue) -> aff link -> sale page: less thaan 10 hop
do you mean that you got just 10 hops and no sales at all, or every 10 hops brought you a sale?

...not human click on your aff link.
Sorry, didn't get it, can you please explain?

PS thank you for sharing your experience!

good info, but he said he's not getting any form impressions?
Maybe I missed it in your post, if so my bad

When I've looked at analytics in CB in the past as long as the hops are there the impressions usually ride along...however, there's no doubt CB can have delays, just not familiar with a disparity from the one vendor as long as one hops show, my experience is that forms come along as well

Did try it yourself yet mike? you need to test it yourself first, got do basic TS first....

and 300 is not too high if your target audience isn't right, coupled with a poor sales page, but certainly I can understand your concern in light of the #'s ...gotta check out the order page.....AND mike make sure your ID is in the page code at that point..

Yeah, 10 hop and no sale :D
I mean, while direct linking, you get over 500 hop and when you link through a simple landing page (mostly said: click here), the count of hop dropped to 10.
If the visitors are so targeted, why don't they click one more time to get the miracle solution? This is why I guess (and I don't know) there are bots or something visit the aff links and CB counted them as hop.

yes, that's understandable ) cause you increased the # of steps for them to get to your final product.

That's a good point.... well I see how it goes for a couple of days....

correct. I am not getting any form impressions at all.

would you please tell me more about it? what kind of test do you mean?

that's a good point. I'll wait and see if there are any order form impressions tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

mike make sure your ID is in the page code at that point..
when I click my shortened urls I get to the product pages then I click on the order forms and I can see my ID at the very bottom. Is that what you mean?

a product has just got 1 order form impression - currently it's 281 hops per order form impression =)

That's nice. I have one lead (email submit) from over 300 clicks :D

I have 2800 Hops in 4 months and 190 order form impressions.

So i have 14-15 Hops/order form impression. Maybe it's your URL shortener? I use pretty link (Wordpress Plugin).

U can test it the following way: Click on your own Affiliate Link. When u see the order form, look on the bottom of the page. There is a field "Affiliate = ...." When u see your affiliate id everything is correct. When u see "Affiliate = None" your link is not working.

But there are even more factors:

- your presellpage
- the product you promote, maybe it's garbage and people don't like it

I direct link and do just fine. I use tinyurl as redirect shortener and I get steady commissions. The thing about a presell page is that the prospect may choose not to visit the sales page by clicking your CB link on the presell page. I send my customers straight to the sales page through my affiliate link. Also keep in mind that 1%-2% is considered a good conversion rate. 100 hops translating to 1-2 sales is the norm. There may be periods where you may not see any sales with 500 hops but then you may see 4-5 sales with 100 hops. It all averages out in the end so keep steadily promoting and the results will ultimately end in sales.

Please make sure you are well know about your traffic as described by halifax123. you need to justify the fact from your own results and thoughts.

Thank you!

Here's my funny stats last month:

Product A:
I got 9 hops -> 6 order form submission -> 3 order form server calls -> 1 sale

Product B:

I got 1124 hops -> 20 order form submission -> 0 order form server calls -> 2 sales

In product B, how was I able to generate 2 sales with 0 sever calls!?

I do not how clickbank compute its analytics... Do you have the same issues?

The Possibly Reasons Are:

1. Your Clickbank Product is NOT relevant to what the people searching for on Your site.

2. Your Clicbank product (vendor) Landing Page is terribly Bad.

3. The price for Your CB Product is TOO OVERPRICE.

So the Main problems is : Your Clickbank Products.

Solution: Change the products and give a try to another Products. You WILL SEE the BIG Difference!

Try changing and split-testing the offer up a bit, it doesn't really convert unless it is properly targeted.
