Do you care much if the searches are local or global? They say that cpc's are much higher if you set your sites in the local US search results. Sometimes the figures can be bloated too.
just one question how many exact search count you prefer for the keyword to choose and also how do you assess the difficultly level of the keyword to rank. do you also see allintitle, allinanchor, other things
Another great article Cyberzilla!
There is only one way of guessing how much we earn for each adsense click....that is by going to adwords account
and checking contextual targeting tool
This was mentioned in recent wso adsense revelation
correct me if i am wrong
When you talk about recieiving traffic from other keywords
is it still worth trying to target a decent root keyword and
just get the traffic to the others as a result, or should you
not target a root keyword as much?
Thank you all for your feedback guys. Did I miss anything?? Is there any thing which needs to be checked?
Choosing the best keywords like "buying keywords"
thank you very much for this useful post.
A little basic but useful addition:
When researching KWs, make sure your keywords are not 'seasonal'. By seasonal, I mean the ones getting good search count because of some recent even like say 'osama dead pics'... Now people searched that KW like crazy and some folks (including me) made some decent money off it
But now even if you are #1 for that KW, you won't be getting much traffic. That is because this Keyword has become 'cold' now...
A good way to see if a KW is 'seasonal' or not is to head over to Google trends and Google Insights. You can easily check the graphs and tell about that KW.
Other than that, you guys should consider this thread to analyse your competition: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...ethod-step-step-keyword-research-newbies.html
Good luck...
Did you miss #3?![]()
I swear I did
I was too sleepy last night... Sorry![]()
Cyberzilla, It's BHW members like you who take their time to write and post guides like this and the Step by Step KeyWord guide by IamNRE, who make BHW a powerful up-to-date place for Internet Marketers.
Thanks and Rep. given - Thank you.
I am curious about how you recommend doing keyword research on a large scale to look at more KWs?
(Chime in IamNRE if you see this)
Currently what I'm doing is:
1 - Use scrapebox to scrape related keywords with 2-3 runs of scraping at least.
2 - Enter them into market samurai and analyze them with my criteria for KWs.
3 - Then review the best looking keywords from MS manually and directly in G keyword tool.
4 - Then search for EMDs based on those results.
Often though MS is slow and clunky for what I like. Any tips on creating and searching though large lists of keywords to be able to find the valuable ones?
Is there a way to search for EMDs automatically through a program, script, or web based site?
Regards
1. Exact Search Count
Always look for the exact search count. Initially when you enter a keyword in the search box and hit search, what you get by default is "Broad" search count. Under match types select [Exact] and hit the search button again. That shows the approximate 12-month average of exact user queries for the keyword on Google search.
