Starting local SEO business need help

You could do it but it wont be easy for you. How bad do you want it? In my opinion your only chance is to prove yourself before you get your first paying client. Heres what you do. 1st build a website of your own and get it ranked. Then ask any family and friends who have a business or know someone who does if you can do some seo for them for free. Show them your achievements with your own website. Once you achieve some real results for that person ask if you can use them as a reference. If you show them some real results they should have no problem with this. Ask them to refer you to someone else. If you prove yourself, no one will care how old you are. Without those proven results you dont stand a chance in hell. You can do it though, just depends on how bad you want it.

If I am right, I would need to pay for getting in the Local TV
And also to do get an article about me in the Local Newspaper, it wont be such a big problem, but I think I will try and get 1 or 2 clients before, one way or another !

This is where people are wrong. Tv stations and newspapers are always
on the look out for general interest stories. You are not advertising you
are supplying useful information.

You are going to need a couple of clients under your belt before you go
shouting off what you can do. In your position I would be looking at places
like the local Women's institute, church groups, working mens clubs even your
school. Do you have any school buddies who's fathers or mothers are
self employed? Do your parents know anyone?
Although these aren't high paying gigs they will give you valuable real world
experience, testimonials and references. They are also excellent places
for networking and referrals.

And talking about referrals. They are the lifeblood of this business make sure
every client you have becomes a walking/talking advertisement for
you. I'm surprised how many businesspeople I have met that don't push for
referrals.

The thing is that right now your age is a liability to you. By proving yourself you could turn that liability into an asset. Quite simply the fact that you are so young could actually make your services more desirable to some if you could create a situation where you are perceived to be some sort of seo prodigy. Your gonna need to show some results in order to create that type of situation.

Dont sell yourself short either. People will either trust you or they wont. If they trust you they should be willing to pay what you are worth. If you actually achieve results then your service is worth the same as someone who is 13, 23, 43 or 63.

find someone in your area that might be a good perspective partner to work with - like, put them in charge of sales. I've scanned craigslist for similar things and there are always a few people with qualified resumes.

If presenting yourself in front of the client is what is stopping you from doing this, have you ever considered hiring a sales person to be your "front man?"

This person would manage the "sales" side of your operation - meet clients, give presentations, make cold calls, etc. You would manage the "office business" side of the project, handle the billing and money, perform the seo work, and all other tasks.

You might even be able to pay them on a percentage of each deal so you limit you "out of pocket" expenses.

But first you have to convince the grown man that a 13 year old kid is actually capable of doing what he says he can. If I was approached by some 13 year old on craigslist or anywhere else and they offered me a job I would laugh. You would really have to convince me. I would rather lose a little cash than a lot of my time. Time is money and most adults understand this. They are not going to give you there time and effort any easier than a business owner will write you out a check at 13 years old. Im not saying you cant do it, Im saying cut to the chase. Go after the paycheck before you start going after employees.
