If you are in the US, you are legally an adult. The second he grabbed your key from you, you were assaulted. I would have pulled out my cell and called 911. At the very least, the police would have documented the incident, and your standing would have been better with them and the courts, because you called 911 first.

First of all, if I was in that situation I probably would have hit him in the head - but this is the problem with my generation in my country... fists fist - bail hearings later.... the fact you walked away is a good sign.
In most western countries you will find that taking the keys away from a tenant or inspecting a rental property without due notice (48 hours where I live) can be brought before the Property Rental Administration board and the Real Estate Institute Review Board (you could end up not being allowed to administer rental properties for between 3 & 7 years). You could also file a criminal complaint for trespassing (having a set of keys to a property you don't have legal right to access is often the same as trespassing), the unlawful possession of property, if he does anything with your photo, use/publishing of a media item namely a digital image depicting people without consent, if he writes to anyone regarding the 'issue' and uses your name in connection with a crime, breach or infraction of a law or municipal by-law then you could peruse him from liable.
I've got more, but I'm sure you get the point.
