Listened to both of these and they are great! Learned alot of valuable information.

Any of you actually tried his script though? Some of it sounds so robotic, and he never explains what to do if they plain refuse to set up an appointment

Hey Offline BHWers! I made another appointment today in less than 2 minutes of being on the phone. Something that has been my weapon of mass destruction in calling businesses is local print advertising! Yellow pages, local college newspapers, and local magazines that are specific to just your area. What I've been doing is looking to see if these businesses have a website and if they do, I'll go and evaluate it to see if there's any weaknesses in it such as broken links, no pictures, no video, etc. Then I'll look at their competitors and write down what they have already etc. Then when I call them, I'll tell them what their competitors have and what they don't have and how they should be at the front of the line in their war on bringing customers etc. If they don't have a website, then it's that much easier to sell!

1st contact is always about getting a lead not for gettign a sale. It's ike dating a girl....you go out with her to bed her 3 or 4+ dates down the line. VERY lucky to do it right off the bat unless you pay...Or it was like that in my day.
 
I just wanted to throw this out there, we just learned about "spin" selling in school. Its pretty interesting, give it a Google search and a read if you'd like, it may help
 
I used to cold call all day selling stocks and then loan modifications and foreclosure defense. It turns out that i also would choke up then get nervous and even start to sweat. Then i realized when i spoke to my family about it i was as smooth as possible. For me it was convincing myself that the people on the other end of the phone were family and to take my time and stay relaxed. Act as if they called you and NEED your service...you will always get some jerk that wants to throw a tantrum...for those people simply ask them why they DO NOT think they need your service....and always control the call. Once a perspective buyer has control of the call..theres a good chance that you have lost the sale.

Yeah, I should've said appt! I want to help these businesses, not just take their money.
 
Have you ever tried voice broadcasting? We are doing alot of small tests with it now and it seems good. I like it 100% better than email marketing because it gets delivered 100% and listened to 100%. The costs are around the same price. My response is better than email marketing too. We are just tweeking our system now so we can make sure the message ques correctly. It takes alot of tech knowledge but from what I have seen and the response generated it has legs. I am going to hammer out large tests tomorrow about 25,000 bursts to see.

Voice broadcasting? Never heard of it. What's it used for?

VB is illegal since 2009 by congress as a federal law unless its for political or nonprofit organizations.
 
Nice thread! Nothing but pure positive help. This should be of help when I do some cold calling for FB services such as fan pages,promotion,website creation and that stuff. :D OP has it been going good for you since you landed your first clients? :D
 
Do you ever read or research before you make assumptions? You state this as fact when it is completely false? There are no rules and regs on pre recorded messages sent to businesses. Before you state something as fact, do your homework!

Hey bud, been in the insurance business for years. If you don't think insurance agents haven't been doing this to death, then you need to put the weed piece down.

I am warning those that consider doing this, it is totally ILLEGAL.

I like how you call me out, and then offer nothing to back up your claims. Idiot!

Attack your information?? Im proving my point. If by showing you VB is illegal, thats attacking you, then you need to grow a thicker skin. Im merely showing the guy who tried calling me out (miserably) how he was wrong.

I guess if trying to save you tens of thousands of dollars in fines (seen insurance agents that have been fined for this) is a bad thing, well I understand, I'll stop posting to this thread..
 
Best advice you're going to receive on this thread:

Only ask questions that you can get a "yes" from?

e.g., "Would you like to get more traffic to your website?"

Everybody knows that good sales, and cold calling is staying positive, so always be nodding your head even while you're on the phone, if you're nodding, than even if they're on the other end of the phone, they should start nodding, and saying yes will get you a live appointment.
 
empty... I guess Im the guy who called you out.... Not trying to get childlike....I dont have time to read your links, but none seem to be directed to govt sites that make the laws.....FTC - FCC. I have called the FCC and FTC, had conversations with agents and their supervisors all confirming the same thing. That, VB is illegal to consumers ie: reisdential households. The law does not pertain to businesses. I can send you the recordings of the calls, dates, names and organizations. I dont get my info from insurance forums but from the source. We do a ton of Telemarketing, I am versed with rules and regs. If you can find one law, by a govt organization, I would love to read it. Otherwise, you are wrong.
