Keyword density question

Hi guys,

I am trying to understand this hope get some help here.

I have 1 site which its very new (2 weeks old) and 2 unique articles in it. Platform is WP.

I wrote the articles myself SEO optimized for 1 main keyword. The thing is, when I go to a keyword density analyzer tool, it gave me 18% of my main keyword density (whole domain, not deep link and this includes meta tags, description, visible text, alt text and etc). From what I read this is very very high correct?

My domain is an EMD and I am trying to figure out how to lower this density, and all I came up with is writting more and more articles related to my niche but not optimized to my main keyword. Am I getting the point here? This will not hurt my SERP on my main keyword right?

Are you sure the keyword density checking tool you're using is not broken? Tried using seo doctor?

I did not used SEO doctor yet, will look for that right now. But since I am new to this on page SEO and everything, let`s assume that I made my whole website on that keyword and the 18% are correct, which I think they are, because I simply got an EMD, and wrote 2 unique articles optimized for that keyword (pretty much everything on my site has the keyword, alt text, tags, links, title and etc.) Do my last questions proceed?

Im using a SEO plugin for my written articles and keyword density on each one are around 1.5% with my main keyword. The problem I think is that the whole site is getting optimized for just 1 keyword and this is stuffing the KW density.

I suppose you're probably using a wrong tool to evaluate as its evaluating your whole site for the keyword while it should only be evaluating the page which you're looking for. Use wp plugins as seopresser, wp easy seo, wp seo beast for on-page optimization and wordpress seo by yoast for on-site optimization. For further on-page and on-site optimization use seo doctor addon for your browser

I think you are going in a right way. and it will not affect your SERP on your main keyword.

The Keyword density consideration for site optimization is 3-5%. If it would be more, definitely your ranking will affect on SERP. So try to maintain your density using a good tool.

That's very weird because trying different tools now it gave me something around 3~5% which is fine.
I just think it's weird because I have some SEO plugins installed on my WP and I just follow every single step/tip (like title with KW, H1 H2 and H3 tag with KW, KW in bold, 2 or 3 times on the text and etc) to SEO optimize the articles, but when I just look to my whole site I think the KW shows up too much.

The SEO Quake add-on for Firefox has a pretty nice keyword density checker. Gives you a report of the density of one, two, three, four, etc. word phrases.

Try too keep your keyword density between at least 2% and 5% the most. Every % between these two parameters it's perfect for a good keyword density.

easy wp seo can handle the keyword density calculation directly in wp dashboard. it provides two type of kw density calculation.

Your target density varies from niche to niche and keyword to keyword. Your best bet is to pick one tool and run it over the top 10 in the keyword / niche you want to target - that will show you the general ballpark you should be aiming for. The actual density itself and how you measure it is irrelevant - whatever tool you use to measure, you just want your pages to measure the same as the pages in the top 10.

It totally depends on the context. Usually the longer the text, the lower the KW density. So if you have a bunch of short, yet useful texts, I don't see why people wouldn't read them. In such cases KW density tends to be higher than the 3-5% advocated by the SEO community, without necessarily diminishing the quality of the text. In which case it becomes close to irrelevant, provided you have good quality backlinks pointing to the page in question.

If you are using wp then there is a plugin clickbump which can help you in determining right density level.

Hi all,

thanks for the tips! I have seo clickbump and all of my articles are OK according with the plugin, the plugin also give me low keyword density for all of the articles, I keep the KW density on each article around 1.5~2%. Thats why I was shocked at first with that tool that gave me 18% KW density on my whole site.

Articles are 300 to 500 words long. Guess that tool was faulty.

I am kind of new at this and spend 4 months just reading and learning from BHW, now I have some projects going on, already bought scrapebox (which I am starting to learn) and I'm not afraid of failing on my first project because I'm learning a lot.

Haha, I was wondering why you were getting such a high number. Eighteen percent would be way overwhelming. What tool were you using before that was giving you the high number?
