What do you think about .gov and .edu backlinks???
I have some backlinks on these sites... do you think that they are good or useless??

I think they are still pretty good as long as they are not the auto approved spammed out type. I have seen some good results from moderated edu and gov blogs. edu forum profiles are good as well.

thanks.
they are not spammed sites :)
only my link is there :)
I wanna try to get the 1st position on google for a hard keywoed. my position dance from 10-14
In the 1st place there is a site that its .com
my domain is the same but .info
and we offer the same service :)
I boost my backlinks with xumer but none of them are indexed!
At this moment I have only 36backlinks and the first 16000 but all cruppy :D

Definitely useful... just don't make them your only game plan. You want every single type of link you can possibly get.

.EDU and .GOV links are great.
They are very useful for site ranking.

most .gov and .edu sites carry some nice weight. Wouldnt hurt to have a few in your backlink arsenal. Seems more natural as well to have variety.

Avoid .gov and .edu links that are already heavily spammed, such as guest box comments. Those will not be counted even if there's a high PR as the link juice will be distributed and Google may likely even ignore the links entirely. Diversify your links, and you'll be fine!

They're VERY Powerful, If you can get your hands on 10+ you'll see your site rocket in the rankings!

I think they are good because they aren't usually as spammed. I don't think they hold too much of an influence though like many others believe.

Google love them! Your page rank will surely increase. Just one check, where you put on forum , Is it on thread/post?

They are the same as other links in terms of value, it depends on:

1 - Number of OBL's
2 - PR of page
3 - Content on page

What makes .gov and .edu links more valuable is the fact that, by nature, .edu and .gov links are much more likely to be linked to from other high pr / authority domains.

.edu and .gov links are not magical. A normal edu links with 0 incoming links into it is no more valuable than normal .com link with 0 incoming links into it.

Edu and Gov sites have very good reputation and if you have backlinks of your sites there that means you are in right direction.

These are really valuable for getting a good PR in the search engine. If you've such backlinks then you can get easily in a good PR if you give some more efforts on content. Remember quality backlinks and unique content is the key to good PR.

I think if they look natural they are just as helpful as a normal domain name. It really depends on other variables such as domain age and PR standing.

They help me rank so i use them often. Rumor is a PR0 .edu/.gov holds as much weight as a standard PR7 link but who knows for sure. I use profile links and not spammed out comment posts.

as blogs are overly spammed although some auto approve ones r not,edu gov profile links are best for ur link building purposes and ur own edu blogs and wiki page are goldmine..

When you have a young domain and want to build links at an unnatural speed, i suggest you build lots and lots of edu and gov backlinks first, and once you have enough of these, blast other links directly to your money site, thousands of them every day, and google wont bother. this is no fuckin theory out of my head, i do the same and it always worked. :D
