.gov and .edu backlinks

.edu and .gov had better link value before the panda update. Probably after the panda update i feel the link value should have been diluted. Nwadays getting edu links has been very easy just like getting links from normal domains..

Said that, it still has a better link value than other TLDs. If you can get backlinks from .edu or .gov that has a domain PR of 7+ may be and a good alexa value, sure it can help in your rankings.

panda update is not related to backlinks, its about content

from your own experience then, have you noticed a Goog preference for blog posts or for forum profiles or are both equally weighted, or (please be honest) havent you done any testing to that degree?
 
I think other way of getting back link from those sites is by commenting and participating in their network sites and give your link. Never try to promoter your product just comment on their topic and give your link though it is no follow site many people will visit that and if they like your comment they will come to your site this may helps in driving a bit of traffic.

I know .edu used to be very good, not sure how they are after all the updates.
Does anyone know if foreign .edu and .gov are also as beneficial? For example gov.uk
 
.gov and .edu site is great for backlinks. but all the time it does not work properly. anyways thanks for the link.
 
I wonder if relevance has much weight with the .edu and .gov backlink?
 
.govt and .edu backlinks are very effective and very easily indexed by Google and other search engines. According to my practical experience, once I did some .edu backlinks and after 1 day, these were indexed by google. I checked by backlinkwatch.com.
 
not many people seem to sell gov links.. any recommendations?
 
Also profile .edu backlinks are fine. I have just tested one service provided here in Buy-Sell section- .edu profile backlinks, and was very positively surprised with the results.
 
They do give great results. I have recently scraped 50 .edu/.gov links (it was a mixure of do-folllow/nofollow, around %50 were do-follow), most of them were PR3+. These were links from blog comments.

My test:
I created these 50 .edu/.gov backlinks to a website which was stuck on #34 on google.
1 day after I created these links my site jumped to #28 and today I have checked and it is now standing on #21.

I haven't done any other backlinking than these .edu/.gov links, the purpose was to test the power of the new links I have scraped.



as blogs are overly spammed although some auto approve ones r not,edu gov profile links are best for ur link building purposes and ur own edu blogs and wiki page are goldmine..

I have got better results on spammy blog comments than on profile pages, still don't know really why, since these pages were spammed to death.

You can also get great results with contextual links on .edu websites, there are some people selling these links out there.
 
is there such a thing as "wiki software to submit articles to wiki sites" Thanks in advcance, im having trouble finding any info on this as im sure there is somewhere as there are plenty of people selling 100's of submissions so surely they are not doing this by hand, anyboday also know anything, please advise?
