Host for Xrumer

I've bought Xrummer, but it works sloooowly on my localhost. I'm looking for cheap host for it, prefer VPS. Could you recommend me good one, where can I run it without using proxy (with friendly ISP )?

vr.org has cheaply priced VPS. Slap vmware infrastructure on it, drop XP Iso on there and voila. Cheap windoze box.

As far as I remember, then you cant run xrumer on VPS... Go for a full dedicated server.
I used to rent a 10Mbit unmetered @ hxxp://www.vrtservers.net for $109 (It's the $89 server + windows)...

1. get linsux based dedicated/vps server.
2. Download VMware Infrastructure , it's free on their site.
3. Install vmware infrastructure
4. upload windoze xp iso to linsux server
5. create vmware container in infrastructure using their web based control panel
6. set container to boot from xp iso you uploaded
7. start the container, connect to console complete the installation.
8. ???
9. profit

Why do most of you guys prefer dedicated or VPS? I mean im using xrumer on 2 machines I bought exclusively for xrumer use and so far its working pretty well and speed seems fine for me. Can you kindly enlighten me about the difference of using vps and home pc? Thanks

Dedicated server has way more upstream available than a home broadband connection. Unless of course you live in sweden

internet speed seems ok to me when running xrumer

In the states I think they put caps on the speed. Once everything becomes fiber optic, I'm curious to see if we will be able to use the 100 mbps speed.

Forget about vps:

I use Xrumer on a dual-core machine with. 16 Mbit downstream dsl connection and 70 posting threads:
100 % CPU usage. For 100Mbit/s you would probably need a 8xcore server. Many (v)servers come with 2500 GB (which is equivalent to 5Mbit/s unmetered). In other words: forget.

But what I am currently thinking about is to buy a cheap vps and set up a squid proxy.
Many hosters offer additional IPs so except that you can spam safe, you have multiple ips ... great, if you dont want to rebuild your database weekly. Should be easily possible to configure squid to randomly make choice on a specific ip.

you can abuse a vps with xrumer. if you haven't tried it, how do you know it would fail?
Perhaps with account creation you would want to not use many threads because of captcha requirements. For posting you could ramp it up..

serverbalance offers 32 ips with vps.
squid is trivial to setup.

acl ip_1 myip 1.2.3.4
tcp_outgoing_address 1.2.3.4 ip_1

acl ip_2 myip 1.2.3.5
tcp_outgoing_address 1.2.3.5 ip_2

That will configure squid to use the IP connect to [1.2.3.4] as the outbound address. Random ips per request would cause trouble with sessions. Some software uses IPs and cookies for session identifiers.
