clickbank-really as good?

i have been reading a lot on this forum...and have seriously started considering promoting products as an affiliate....but i am at a loss...why is every one always suggesting clickbank? as far as i have been able to gather from google and forums that many of clickbank products are pretty crappy...also they have high refund rates...they dont pay via paypal...payment cycle is long...plus people download the products, ask for refund, keep the product and then make the product availble for download all over the place.

after all these reservation...i have to admit CB is the most popular and has the largest collection....

so now tell me plz is cb the right choice? or should i try some other affiliate network for ebooks and info products or physical products which users actually find helpful and therefore dont ask for refunds? also list some alternatives

CB has its advantages , the commission is pretty high as much as 75% on some products.. you can't beat that . The biggest downside is that the competition is fierce and it takes lot to convince people to buy a digital product (as opposed to a physical product).

Most of the products in IM category are crap as you have said but if you move into other categories, you'll see plenty of products that are good with low refunds. CB is good choice if you want to promote ebooks. Other networks are not as well known.

Clickbank is only as good as the product you are selling. No matter what niche you're in, you don't want to sell crappy products that people are going to get and want to get a refund for as soon as they see it. If you research the product and pick one with a good gravity, sales page, and low refund rate... chances are, you will be happy with CB.

If you promote a crappy product that looks lucrative but is over-saturated and low quality, chances are you will despise CB.

I personally like CB and have had no problems with them. Like anything, though, it's all in your approach. Because there's so many crappy IM products out there using CB, it's important to bring something fresh to the table when you promote your products.

Yeah, I would have to agree with the above - if you are just starting out, take this as your biggest piece of advise - STAY AWAY FROM MMO (make money online) or anything related to IM - because well, there is a lot of crappy content and the competition is just the big dogs competing against each other. Get into a micro niche and make a $30 sale each day - you will be much happier and much less stressed.

Last year I made $200-$300/day with Clickbank alone so I know there's money to be made but the problem is to find products that convert. 2-5 out of 100 products I tried to promote usually do good for me.

Success with CB comes directly from the quality of the product firstly, followed by how you are marketing the product and to what audience. If you create a good sales page(s) which are honest and relate to the reader it will sell. The trick is finding that elusive quality product and then putting a decent sales page together as well as generating targeted traffic (some good advice above re steering away from IM related products 90% are trash).

CBSnipper is a great choice to help you identify quality products to promote based upon many metrics avaliable you can gain some degree of clarity around which perform better than others.

A word of warning though - the refund rates provided by CB encompass ALL the sellers products under there respective CB ID. Therefore, if the product is showing a high refund rate this may not nessasarily be down to that particular product - should they have multiple products under that ID the refund rate is expressed as a total.

Finally, how do you go about generating targeted traffic? well thats the elixir of IM isn't it - either go the SEO route and wait it out for natural traffic or the paid route which becomes expensive and no guarantees.

The principle method that does work well in this space at the moment is a targeted 3-8 page blog discussing the product in an intelligent fasion (no less than 1000 words each post or page) well optimised for the keyword. This starts off with good quality keyword research ensuring that the KW's you are targeting are matched perfectly with the product you are promoting and are achievable in terms of ranking.

I would also recommend anyone creating blogs for CB to invest in the SEOPressor plugin - this is a great tool in my eyes and helps keep you on track when creating unique and engaging content covering off all the critical SEO bases as you go.

Get your blog set up right, targeting the right keywords, promoting a quality product and you will make sales. Its not a quick and easy method but the ones that work never are.......

I'm in the MMO niche and do quote well actually. I have 4.8% conversion on my main site, and I get on average 1 return a month.. some months i have no returns. I don't think it's that hard to compete in this niche, you just have to offer a product that people want, and find a micro niche in the market. MMO has a ton of traffic. But you have to have a strategic game plan, you can't just go after "make money online" you'll never get anywhere!

It usually will work, as not all internet surfers are looking for money in the internet.

most affiliates choose an offer to promote that has a high gravity. also, try increasing your commission rate - don't be greedy, if there are any competitors in your niche offering higher commission rate, chance is that affiliates will choose your competitors offer over yours.

You have to get out there and email site owners and take the bull by the horns. There is not a day where I don't get an email from a cb product owner asking me to be his affiliate. This works because some of my competition bite. I don't take advantage of it (never had luck promoting cb) but some will.

Yeah, I have to be honest. If something has 50% commissions, I usually pass it by, because most good-quality offers out there will give 60-75% commissions. I know what I can do, so I'd rather get more for my efforts.

You'll make more money on CB if you promote non-IM products.

Of course there is free information on the internet. But many could be contradictory. For those with health concerns, you would not want to search for free information on how to treat diabetes. The $30 or $40 you would spend for a CB product could make a lot of difference.

Well, the fact you didnt even named the product shows why you don't have any affiliates! Better still start a thread about your product then maybe you might get some BHW members promoting your product and kick starting a huge marketing campaign, assuming its as good as you say it is....

That information is true, but it's also a bit misleading. There definately are a LOT of crappy products on CB, but there are a lot of good ones as well. CB is just so easy and so popular it attracts the most of everything, good and bad.

The key is to search for products that actually are decent, and then you won't have so many of the type problems you've been reading about. Those good products are there, you just have to do your research.

For good CB income, promote health products. Dont just focus on IM products because majority of those who buy are IMers like you and would claim refund if not to their expectation. In the case of health products, the buyer has no knowledge about the health condition. That is why he or she wants to learn from health experts. Therefore he or she would not mind spending a couple of dollars to get good health.

For CB products of this class, little or no refund and more sales.
