I'd really have to disagree with you there.

As soon as I work out a method, I sit down and automate as much as I can and I systemize the rest so it takes as little time as possible to handle and can hopefully be outsourced. Personally everything I do is based on automating as much as possible and I don't ever get into anything that's going to take up lots of my time on an ongoing basis.

Obviously you have to do something by hand until you work out all the nuances but then it should be systemized / automated / outsourced. It helps that I am a PHP and Unix dev but even a non-technical user should think of themselves as a business owner rather than a worker or an employee.

Spending the time once to automate something that can make you basically free money into the indefinite future is a good use of your time. Sitting down for hours a day doing shit by hand that could be automated or outsourced is just masochism and not a good use of your precious time.

You just can't scale to really big volumes if you don't automate and / or outsource!

And yes, I am lazy, extremely so, and proud of it! I'd rather put in the hard effort once to automate something than to sit around doing grunt work all day that a computer or an outsourcer should be doing.

Another thing to consider is that there is no sick pay, paid holidays or benefits when you are an independent full time marketer.

If you have an emergency, whether you get sick, you have a family crisis, whatever, you need to be able to separate yourself from the day to day mechanics of your business and still keep things ticking over and money flowing in. You can't do that without machines or outsourcers doing at least some of the work for you.

I disagree...I outsource many things but the problem is when people are lazy and go with the first cheap person they find. Its all about setting up the process in tiny verifiable steps and holding the workers accountable for the tasks.

I found out a long time ago the value of having a project manager or supervisor who is paid precisely to monitor and keep your workers on task fulltime...most people think its unnecessary but a dedicated manager is worth his or her weight in gold.

Also the problem most innexperienced outsourcers have is being vague as opposed to giving exact step by step (mc donalds) approach to the workers. Even if you hired a local person in your country, you would run into problems if you didnt have a well planned system that an idiot can follow...why do you think mc donalds has step by step instructions for every single thing down to how to wipe the counter top.

I have a couple of people that I met over time that I outsource time intensive stuff to. They are reliable. Also with anything I'm doing I'm really lazy so I try to streamline it as much as possible, make it take less time from me.

Not everything can be automated but many aspects can. Even if you can't code I bet you could spend a weekend learning a simple program like AutoIt that will automate your browser and other apps to do stuff for you.

Automating something doesn't mean design a program to do your whole job, it means find out what the simple yet time consuming repetitive tasks are involved in your method and try to automate those, if you can't try to outsource it.

Now it's a simple copy/paste and I'm done. Now I just have to work a little more to figure out how I can automate the running process, hmmmmm....

I have been using elance and successfully outsourcing for near 2 years now without a problem using workers from all over the world, same with mturk. Yeah you get your trouble seeds but in my case i can DELEGATE and AUTOMATE my tasks to them in such a clear way its hard for them to mess up. I have a couple friends like you who think like that. And they send their offshore workers tasks with no to little instructions. I spend quality time writing my to dos so that does not happen. They also buy bots and tools with things they havent researched then complain about the end result not working out.

In short if your going to IM, outsource, delegate and automate.

Do your research, if your outsourcing spend time to create a doc or skype with your guys so its clear as day, if they dont understand it waste no more time and move on. If your using a bot like XM, SB and the likes you know what your using so dont complain. I dont think your above posts provides any value, advice or assistance to anyone looking to offshore, outsource or delegate.

I will spend a good twenty minutes writing a crystal clear doc to my guys and have them work all day on trivial tasks, maybe when i was 17 i would spend my time writing articles, data mining and doing research. I dont have anywhere close to a milly but ask me again in 1 more year. And it wont be by following your method.

I'm thinking about starting an autoblog project. I'll probably have it running tomorrow. Here's how I operate:

I'd process my SERP database and get a report of blogs that have lots of posts indexed for keywords at an average position of between 8 and 20. For each of these, I'd log the domain, title, sample keyword, search volume, CPC and feed URL to a new database. About 5 minutes of work to write the code seeing as I already have almost all the data I need. All the feed URLs have to be scraped from the home page HTML, so I'll have to let the script crawl and parse a few hundred thousand URLs or so.

UP NEXT I would cover my ass and whip up a quick wordpress plugin. It would be a DMCA request type deal where someone fills out their name, email, domain and a personal message. The script sets a cron job for an half hour in the future. When the cron job executes, all posts with outbound links to the domain in question will be removed. The feed will be removed from wp-o-matic (yeah, this one). A nice form e-mail will be sent to the guy saying I'm sorry for using the feed, the posts are removed, and I hope he has a nice day. Nice and personal. This should only take a little while.

OKAY now I just need to whip up a script that accepts

• A domain name
• A list of RSS feeds
• A site title
• A tagline

So first it will just have to add the domain to my hosting with cpanel. Then it'll have to install wordpress on the domain. Then it'll install whatever plugins I specify, finishing up with wp-o-matic. It will add all of the feeds from the list to wp-o-matic, then set the title and tag line. To finish it up, it'll pick a theme from a handful that I'll have sitting in a folder, install and activate it. Project is almost done.

At this point, all my code is written and my PC is still scraping feeds into the database. Almost ready to go.

When the crawler is finished, I'll fire up a script I already wrote that returns a list of domain auctions with age / PR / backlinks / indexed. It takes a little while to run, so I'll hang out for a bit. When it's done I'll pick the best domain I found and buy it.

Now I'll look at my blog domain report and find something that meets my criteria. A niche with decent volume and cpc, picked up a few serps but nothing phenomenal. Being updated currently and fairly often. Hopefully find between 4 and 10 more blogs that are related, or do a blog search for some.

So I just copy the URLs of these feeds into my script, pick a title and tagline, set the domain and let it go. Within a few minutes I'll have a shiny new autoblog.

Now I'll probably wait a bit and see what happens as far as gbot visiting, getting indexed and stuff like that. Then I'll probably buy tons of spam links, use SB or dig something custom up from my archives and try that.

The point is: It seems like a lot, maybe a few hours programming. But after the first autoblog, programming is done. If I want another one, I just pick some feeds, pick a domain, set a title and it's done.

I agree with some of your stuff. I see so much crap on here, or sites that were made, it's a matter of time before it fails. I'm in the process of making 200 websites, each with it's own domain name. I make every single site custom, nice looking logos for each site, nice looking css menu, etc., and I change it for each site, because me as a web surfer don't want to visit some piece of shit site to find information. It's going to take me a long ass time to get these sites up. But guess what, the 15 I have up now, 12 of them are #1 for their targeted search term, averaging about 100 visitors a day.

What about I don't agree with is the outsourcing. I've been outsourcing for about six years now and have probably spent over $15,000 doing it. I have a writer who is American, perfect grammar and spelling, and can make articles out of some of the toughest subjects. There are some subjects I'd rather have my teeth pulled than write myself because of how hard it is to make a full page on the subject, but he does it like nothing. I pay him $4 per article in bulk (about 100 articles). On top of this, I also write my own as well when I have time. So you can't say all outsourcing is garbage and hard to find someone good. Buuuuut, as of the last few weeks my guy is now over worked and taking longer to get me my articles and sadly, I may have to find a writer... so I'm kinda contradicting myself!

Well you can have crap automation just like you can have crap outsourcers. Garbage in = garbage out. That's not an argument against automation in general. To me, automation is the essence of blackhat.

when you automate something... you have to plan..
and you actually work 5 times as hard planning and testing
the automation...
but when you are done..
you don't have to do it ever again....

Of course it is possible to outsource or automate many things.
I automated most of my work myself not least because i'm too lazy to work that much.
But you are right,it's not always that easy to do so but always somebody says "outsource it/automate it" anyway.
But what is much more annoying for me are the people that say "congrats, now scale it up".
That's the biggest bullshit.
I have a (blackhat) method that i use successful for about 6 years now.
When i would be able to scale it up i would make millions with it.
But it's simply not possible.
So i don't want to hear from people that don't even know the method that i shall scale it up.
Some of my other stuff isn't scalable as well.
So before people use any of these phrases they better should think about it if it makes sense or if they just post one more wannabe important post.
