Hostgator canceled domain

I bought hosting and domain from Hostgator, but after 4-5 hours the domain was not registered yet so i went to live chat. (the domain had iphone in it)

I was shocked by the response: We don't allow iphone word in any domain.

I can't believe my eyes..... Do you think this is ok ? Cuz i don't....

That's completely up to them, they're just not allowing you that word in your domain to protect themselves from litigation - Apple is very sue-happy.

However there are tons of domains out there that have the word 'iphone' in them, just register it somewhere else.

Anyway, you should always register your domains at a proper registrar and not your host - otherwise it's very easy for your host to hold your domains hostage if you ever decide to switch to another host.
