I note that wikipedia is supposed to be no follow but in Spyglass they are shown as high value links. If my domain is referenced on someone elses wiki page then do I get juice or no???

Any backlinks add juice, and yes ones from Wikipedia are very powerful. Search Engines want to see diversity. The more different style, and different domain links you have the better, and note that the recent update on Big G steers more torward quality of links, and not quantity. So i think those wikipedia links will definitely add some good juice. I wish you the best of luck :)

I agree, Wiki links can be a big boost, regardless of follow status. They can also drive very high quality direct traffic to your site. It's hard to get them to stick for any length of time though.

Confirmed, they are no-follow. But who cares? If you can get wikipedia links, definitely do it.

Shockingly JenniferMartin is correct.

Wikipedia is a potential seed site. Well worth having along with the traffic.

Don?t know what a seed site is? http://www.seobythesea.com/?p=3790

Gaining a link on a highly authoritative page can often see a webpage boost in the serps.

I have a biog site - what if all my members also had biogs on Wik and a link to their boig on my site? Will that go mad?

You all get rep :) Great response.

you saying they're hard to stick if they're linking to a spam blog?

I made a couple mistakes when i first started adding my links to wiki. When i posted one at a time and gave several weeks rest on wiki all my links were added and still stick. One night i did like 5 wiki entries and it caught the attention of a mod and they erased all 5 in one shot. My advice is reg an account to block IP and do one at a time.

They won't stick if they are linking to a spam blog surely... That's a bit off topic but a spam blog has limited shelf life anyway.

Very true, mine were all actual solid content sites with good info on the subject or in my case the sports figure.

Yes, and it's also very difficult to get any link at all to stick if your site has any whiff of commercialism, spammy or not. Wiki editors are a bunch of Nazi fucks who delight in tormenting honest affiliate marketers. :D

I posted 2 links on Wikipedia to some sites (One a Squidoo lens, the other just a Wordpress blog and timed (roughly) how long it took for them to come down. The links were up for maybe 20 minutes before they both got taken down.
I got 1 click out of either of them.

That sounds fairly typical. I've had my best success with Wiki by setting up completely clean and ad free information sites with in depth articles eg. scraped from serious medical sites and science journals. Then you cloak them or add hidden links to funnel the link juice where you want it to go. Even then it can take a lot of attempts on a lot of different Wiki pages to try and get them to stick... There are easier ways to get link juice.

"Lite" EZA style articles, anything free hosted or anything commercial just won't cut it in my experience.

just added a link to my micro niche site. Wander how long it lasts!

How do you get a page for your company on wikipedia?
anyone tell me if this is possible and if yes how?

If anybody offers wikipedia links (niche related) and can redirect them to my site via cloacked sites, I'll be very interested :)

Wow this is good intel, dishing out the love.... it seems I will spare budget carefully on how many I try and get with wiki.

I recall my boss had one once.. just a biog page, he is pretty famous in business. it was taken down in seconds.

depends... Even if that particular wiki page has PR 3, a link from that page to your site wouldnt "increase" your pagerank (unless it's a ********!), but the anchor text will have impact on your search rankings.

whatever the keyword was used in that anchor text, you will probably go up in rankings for that keyword in google..

EDIT: why is the dooo falaw censored??
