Anyone using bandit signs?

So I have done some offline work (fliers promoting cpa email submits on and around college campuses) with hit and miss success and I was wondering if anyone is using bandit signs for promotion. If so, what kind of traffic did you get (ball park) for your signs?

I know a bit about bandit signs... I used to own a national company that placed them for people.

They do work for some offers but you have to keep them simple.

3 Lines of text and one is a phone number... websites do not convert anywhere near
as well as a phone number.

White with Blue or Red lettering... not both, just one color only.

If you guy 100 signs, you'll pay between 150.00 and 200.00 and properly placed should get you not less than 50 - 75 leads.

Put the signs up on a Friday after 5:00 PM so the county/city doesn't take them down
and let them work for you all weekend long... on Monday you'll see a bunch are gone
but they rarely get them all so you will still be getting some traffic from them.

We served a lot of different industries at the time. You might want to take a look at some of CJ's pay per call offers as they had some that worked.

You may want to offer something like make huge money online, have them call a phone number and have a sales pitch on a recording that sends them to your landing page where you could have a content blocker up or collect emails and build a nice list.

I've used yard signs for many years for my mortgage company, actually all my clients were based from yard signs + referrals they worked very well.

I've tried in the past to use them for a membership only site on how to make money online locally, but it didn't really work out.

I had a local number with a recorded message sending em over to the site, I did get many voicemails but not many hits to the site, I recommend having someone picking up the phone, that's how you are going to make most out of your signs from my previous experience.

If you want to go really blackhat, (this is how I did it to try the website thing) drive by Sat morning in heavy areas where you usually see them and pick them up from the competition, then with stencil lettering you can spray paint your message and put up 50 and test your results, or if you have good handwriting get a thick black permanent marker and write your sign.

**Warning you might get some phone calls from the sign owners** Just make sure you get a google voice number that you can change at any time.
