SEO METHOD literally rank for any term you want.

Hey another quality post here, I'm glad to see it.

However you forgot to mention a few factors:

1) domain age
2) yahoo/dmoz listing

These are not total game changers but they can hinder a brand new site trying to outrank an older established site.

Also I wonder if google looks at backlink age...

Domain age does come into equation, but i find it's too hard to find the correct domain thats aged in the niche i want to target, but i have had a few really competitive terms reach number one by utilizing this method and using quality unique content and also PR3+ same niche backlinks.

Never ever tried listing a site in dmoz, don't even think it would be worth it.

Thanks for the on-page info, well thanks for all your info but I found the on-page to be useful to me.

Thanks for this post. I have been trying to figure out how to get more keywords onto the page. I knew some of the things but most of it is new.

There is a serious flaw here. Site explorer does NOT show all backlinks, it shows a sampling and even what it shows it limits what is displayed to you. So yes, you can copy some backlinks but not all. This is especially problematic if he gets a sitewide link on a blog with 5,000 indexed pages, chances are those are the only links you will be seeing when doing a site:www.site.com search on yahoo.

I hope the noobs find this helpful... a bit basic for the rest of us.

thank you very much for this guide, relly helps me!

Hey all,

Let?s investigate the site already ranking #1.
Step 1: Go to Google.com and type in ?Dog Training? (without the quotes). Click on the first organic listing that shows up.
Step 2: What sort of site is it? It?s a blog, right? (Good news for us in this example)
Step 3: Go to Yahoo! Site Explorer. (Just Google it) Paste the domain name of the number one ranking site into the bar and hit ?Explore URL?.

Guess what? We can now see every link pointing to the site. It has, at this time of writing, 1,851 back links.

What does this mean? It simply means we have to beat that number with either more links or higher quality links.

NO.
The #2 in my niche for a particular keywords has 871 back links.
For the same keyword, my site is #20 with 1,584 back links with higher PR as well.

thanks for this wonderful information.. it very informative..

pretty basic info, will take a while and an effort building links that way.

So basically get links that are related to your niche?!

You sir, deserve an SEO award.

Nice guide, although maybe classed as basic ,the main point to me is relevancy.
You can easily blackhat everything.
One thing I do is google "keyword forums" google will then list forums IT thinks are relevant.I them copy and paste maybe 50-70 then put the list in scrapeboard.

Your links are relevant to the forum subject so you'll get more juice that way.Do the same for scrapebox. This way your anchor keyword doesn't look stupid and ,again,is relevant.

Do a PR check, manually comment on the high PR ones for increased approval rate.

For new sites in low comp niches I use SEnukeX works very well for me along with the above.
