[GOOGLE update] Backlinks value has changed so I post My experience in this matter

What is wrong with submitting articles to article directories? Even matt cunts said that was a good way of getting links. I don't think that will change. Sure they've been slapped but everybody's talking like article links are suddenly worthless which is just not true.

Personally I've seen a decrease in the value of my high PR ******** blog comments, make of that what you will.

40% uniqueness on articles, I didn't realize that. I think mine are about 30%, I've had no real problems either.

Mine too. My contents will be around 35% normally..

Guess I am going on the safe side of this
Seems G has in some way discounted spam links... My Scrapebox love-fest may be getting close to the end!

Not onlly that but sites that are autoaprove are fewer and fewer and users are becoming aware of this spaming tehnique
This will become harder and harder, exactly what happend to forum profiles (more than 1 anti spam question are on now on most forums)

I think Google is simply making it harder to rank quickly. I don't think they can stop anyone from ranking well... they are just delaying the gratification, knowing that many of the people in this business are very impatient and thrive on "instant gratification". I think they are expecting (and probably rightly so), that large numbers of B'Hatters will give up since instant results are going to be much harder to achieve.

I like this idea and it seems to fit very well to whats happening rite now!

As an update I have to say that backlinks are becoming more and more important when it comes to ranking.
Scrapebox is losing a lot of its power, if you dont know how to use it its useless, dont just shoot in the dark, that wont do anything!

lately it seems that Quality over Quantity is the best bet. I use to just blast away with multiple instances and that would suffice. But now im being more selective on what my sites links to. Also Web 2.0 is very important, create some great high quality content, and have it link to you site. Those links have proven to be very powerful. For example a niche that Ive been testing with has 45k searches monthly nothing to crazy, and competition I would say is medium, I have achieved to get a new domain on the first page within less than a month, and every week i move further up the serps for not only my main keyword, but a few other select ones.

What I've noticed is now ranking well is DO-FOLLOW blog comments from high page ranks (PR3+), twitter links, and facebook links.

Xrumer & Scrapebox both went down the drain as far as mass commenting on no-follow or pr n/a links are concerned with the new algorithm update.

Also, if you have a lot of duplicate content, google will now remove you from the top 10 at least from what I've experienced and other marketers have similar things happen to them as well.

High PR blog comments that are do--ffolow are harder and harder to find but when you do they are indeed important.
As for the web 2.0 I am counting a lot on them aswell, they are higly considered in google this days as long as they have 30%+ unique content.
AMR is starting to build better and better backlinks as well

You are right, Xrumer backlinks are WAY less effective since the last update.

I read here and there that the backlinks themselvs are not less effective but they are much harder to index, since the new google algo he dosent index pages that are hidden and dont have incoming links to them such as forum profiles.
Backlinking your backlinks is more and more important!

do you think that this extra step will actually fool google? it's not a bad idea, it seems that this might be the next logical step in the escalating arms war between us and google.

Its very important to get your backlinks indexd, getting google to crawl them is not the same thing with indexing them, crawling is easy to get. If you see that your backlinks are getting not getting indexd even if you try very hard that means that the types of backlinks you build are not good. I ranked in the first page web 2.0 pages in 2-3 days and had edu forum profiles that did not want to get indexd no matter what I did to them
This applies to the panda update to!

OMFG!!

I wonder how people can provide such accurate stats.. Seems like Larry Page just spill the beans, huh?

LAME....

So I once read that Yahoo and Bing have as much mthly searches as Google does (combined)

Sorry to interrupt with the noob question, but what do you mean by "backlinking to your backlinks"?

Well if you didnt get an answer to that question I will answer it with a dellay:
If you will build a forum profile it wont get indexed on its own that easily so you should build backlinks to that forum profile (its a piramid like system)

"Nfollow links have lost in value in google`s eyes."

this is WRONG! and if you ask i can give you an example that a no follow link is much better than a do follow. there are many factors... you should edit your OP. just saying...

Social Links are definitely going to help a lot with SEO in the future.

A backlink is a backlink the higher the pr the page you have the backlink from the higher is the value of the backlink :)

Care to explain more on this one because I cant see how and why it would help more then a ********

like i said there are MANY factors...

just one example:

lets say you are promoting baby toys. you build 2 links to your site:

1. d0follow link in a porn site with already 100s of links in it
2. n0follow link in a blog highly related to babies stuff

what you think better?
