But in the last day or so we launched a pretty big algorithmic improvement to our ranking—a change that noticeably impacts 11.8% of our queries—and we wanted to let people know what's going on. This update is designed to reduce rankings for low-quality sites—sites which are low-value add for users, copy content from other websites or sites that are just not very useful. At the same time, it will provide better rankings for high-quality sites—sites with original content and information such as research, in-depth reports, thoughtful analysis and so on.

Yes, that informations runs some days on the net, it seems that Google strat penalizing sites with too much duplicated content and others with almsot no coment in their pages, that will incrase the quality of their content...but is a disaster to Blackhatters that uses autoblogs...

I have loads of single page websites and they all moved up in the rankings today, we're talking about over 30 websites of mine ALL moving up ONE rank at least today. Loads of them jumped to first.

I have moved up in serps for a few different keywords that I was on page 2,3, etc. for. I'm on page 1 for them now. not in the top 5 though but its still an improvement and every little bit helps.:china:

From yesterday, I lost 50% traffic and 50% Adsense income from my sites. I hope this may change back, when they put another phase test of their search algorythm.

If you have good backlinks on pages with unique content and your site has unique content on it as well, you will be fine.
The sites that I own that I checked are all in better positions in Google and one that is a real money site went from #15 to #7 in Google which is huge!
Don't rely on poor quality links from pages that do not have unique content and you will be just fine.
