Kudos to all you warriors who want to continue to beat google, however, I am tired, just so tired of trying to please them. I am going to have to seriously reconsider being in this IM game. And yes, its a game, not a business. They have 200 algorithm changes a year and its near impossible to give them what they want long term.

That's why I don't do blackhat or affiliate stuff anymore. White hat SEO for actual companies is easy and long term. I had enough years of milking one technique until all of the sudden it gets killed in a day, then have to move on to the next thing.

Also, have you tested ehow.com? My guess is that they moved up if Live Strong did since Demand Studios writes for both sites

Yup. I agree with this. This is a game. Not a business.

Thing is that I love to play this game. Why would I play something else, like strategy or race game or killing game when I love to play around with this... Making tools makes me happy, if they work (LOL), even happier, and if they make $$$$ ummmm then I'm happiest.

I totally agree with the statement that IM is a game. Not a business.

ehow is actually down an average of 6, and they're actually the site that ranks in the top 100 for the most keywords I've tested. Out of all my queries they showed up over 3,200 times. EZA showed up in almost 2,000. Essortment.com which they also own got hit hard though. -30 for them.

Surely then a natural response would be for people to duplicate their competitors content on random blogs, so they get penalised and drop down in rankings? Have G really thought this through properly?

Hey man 2 thumbs up for this info. This will really help everyone. Where to post content, were to get backlinks and for app and bot makers: what sites to start targetting and for spammers, what's the next big thing to abuse the shit out of it.

At the same time following the excellent tip of OP I could verify that a good number of smaller and less known AD's that I personally used are now VERY prominent (since the bigger guys like AC got hit)... Just checked for a fairly large number of websites and the trend seems consistent...

But I second the opinion that it's becoming a lottery...

Not true. I have 2 sites 100% witehat, 100% original top quality content and both of them are now on #50-70 for ALL keywords since February 19, 2011. Before I was 1st page for all keywords, #1 for many.
