Does Building Backlinks Increase Rankings?

Is that why you don't have Ezine Articles in there or did I miss that one?

Did you not use EZA in your LinkPush v1

We don't use ezine because they can take a week or so to get an article published unless one is a premium publisher. I happen to be a premium publisher over there myself and do post on ezine and will often build linkpushes around an article to get it to rank and for the link juice it will give my sites.

I assume you'll still post a copy from your spun article to Ezine anyway so you have those URLs to use for future Linkpushes as target pages (or white circles) to build around changing the author bio box to reflect the keyword when needed.

That is exactly right.

That depends on the competition that you are trying to outrank. I do the following when getting a site to rank:

And when I need to bump it up I make an extended version:

THis might be incomplete because you want to link all of the articles to the next one, then your second tier, AND your top tier. It's not so much linking to a backlink, but also to each-other to increase the link wheel.

The main page gets all the links, then each tier is linked to each other, etc.

I am new at this but a fast study. I built 5600 backlinks to my main domain in 3 days. Still ticking away as much of the EDU directory links were submitted to RSS directories and pulled into blogs all over. This started out with 1200 links and 50 edu links pr3-7 and ended up over 5600 time RSS fed them. I am raning for a keyword with 1.5 millions search results and now on page 1 2 separate domains on page 2 and one on page 4.You are too worried about quantity. Don't builds 100k in a month, but a few thousand a month is good.

getting really gud info on link building here.

Well in my experience, yes backlinking does in fact increase ranking in short. IMHO, get yourself some nofollow links in there too, despite what many will tell you.

I believe you can never really pin down a good diagram of a successful linkwheel, as randomness will get you where you want to go. I used to think way too much about this stuff.

I think the idea is not to link anything together to avoid leaving a massive footprint for Google to find, but rather add a layer below to push up the link juice.

Then keep adding to your Mininet until you see positive movement in the SERPs

Backlinks are one of the steps. On-page seo is also very important.

That's very true, but there is really a finite amount of onsite SEO that can be done. Once you've optimized all your tags, content, site design, etc. other than regularly adding more content there isn't much more onsite that can be done. For many sites such as sales pages, there isn't even that much need for adding a lot more content. Once you've optimized your page it's just a matter of minor tweaks for the most part.

Offsite SEO (or SEP, Search Engine Promotions) is a whole different matter. The amount of backlinks you can build are practically infinite. Decide on the keywords you want to target, build a few articles sites and blogs targeting those keywords and link to your money site. Then backlink to them, backlink to those backlinks, and keep repeating as much as you want. Decide to try ranking the same site for a different set of related keywords, just set up another set of web2.0 sites and start the backlink building again. Continue to add more backlinks to your money sites, the web2.0 sites, and all the other backlink sites as well. Build it up as wide and as deep as you want.

You should never forget the importance of onsite SEO because it's the foundation of your site, but for the most part once its done it's done. Backlinking on the other hand is endless. That's why it's so important.

A site with great onsite SEO and very poor backlink building will rarely do as well as a site with poor onsite SEO and pretty good backlink building.

Hi Greg,

Thanks for the report you sent me on the Link Push.

I built one myself and have just completed it. I'm still awaiting some of the articles to be approved before they go live however here is the 'BASIC' Link Push layout of what I built.

I took 7 web 2.0 properties (TIER 1) I'd built earlier this year and then followed your basic link push diagram:

View attachment 6023

TIER 1 sites have one link pointing to my money site homepage
TIER 2 sites have one link pointing to its assigned TIER 1 site
Obviously PR is of the homepage and not the PR of the page I created.

Is this the kind of thing you would build, am I following the strategy correctly?

Nicely done.

That is exactly the process, Stu, and you are doing what I used to do back int he day when I did it manually... writing everything down so you know what is backlinking to what.

The next step would be to build a push to one of those tier 2 properties and have that site generate strong link juice and after that tier 2 property has a push behind it, start working on the other tier 2 properties.

If you still are not ranking where you want, you then start building to the tier 3 properties in your push... of course you want to ping them all and submit the rss feeds that are available as well.

You HAVE TO DO SEO!!!

Several years ago I launched a poker forum and was totally new to the internet. After 1 months without getting new members I started doing SEO; optimising my homepage, using relevant keywords, building backlinks via webdirectories and so on. After 2 month hard work I was (and still) on first position with 24.500.000 search results.
Nowadays it is much more easier to build backlinks; you can use many helping programs; most of them for free. or nulled ;-)

There are a ton of different ways to do seo (if you couldn't tell)

Backlink wheels are great ways, there software out there that automates and starts your own "wheel" (senuke, xgenseo, link builder robot, magic submitter)

powerful software like xrumer or scrapebox are used to blast your link wheels (or if you want to do a 3 level site lke a lot of the guys here you blast your links to your link wheels)

Here's what i'm doing right now :

Programs I use are:

article marketing robot (great software)
scrapebox
maybe a bit of xgen seo.

Every day I blast article marketing robot towards my site.
Then I harvest the complete pr 3 and above articles that are available.
I blast the software again at those articles that are pr3 or above.

Then I take scrapebox and I blast each of those pr3 or above articles.

Sometimes (thursdays usually) I'll run xgen seo, it creates web2.0 linkwheels.

Then I'll take article marketing robot and scrapebox and blast each linkewheel.

At the end of the week I take every link (except scrapebox ones) gather them up, then take them to indexbear.

They index 1,000 links (well like 50% of those) for 10$ so it's not bad.

Oh I also take all of my articles and turn them into rss feeds and blast and ping those too.

Keep reading and getting software, trust me, it's not as hard as it sounds. It's much simpler when you map it all out.

Fine, just go to downloads section. Check my thread about link building dossier. You will be having some idea about backlinks.

Hi BigBuddy

I searched for "link building dossier" and for threads created by you in the downloads section but could not find the thread. Was it removed? or can you provide a link?

Thanks
