Well danny i do not have the answer for that yet only time will tell, that is the reason i bought an old domain to see if it was any different from a new domain.

Hmm. I read that it's not the domain age, but the age of the inbound links. Then again it wasn't long ago that it was trivial to rank some really sweet parasite hosts.

Things seem to change on a regular basis this is what makes google the company it is, if everyone keeps guessing, they will be spending money.

Hi Greywolf actually the thread was similar to that one, never actually saw that one , so thanks to the guys who followed up on that thread, i was also demonstrating the tools that i used hoping that it would help some of the new guys to SEO.

You blasted you articles ot the old domain directly with BE blogs ?

Just for info guys, this is what i done

Bought an old used domain related closely to keywords used for 5 dollars

Ran Scrapebox to harvest as many blogengine blogs as possible related to a certain keywords related to the travel industry

Downloaded and installed Xgenseo trial version, good for 1 month

setup account for new domain with xgenseo and let xgenseo search for any articles related to the travel industry, just dropped a link in the article that i decided to use, then changed the signature at the bottom and the author, did nothing else, no spinning etc, let xgenseo promote the site to everywhere, done this for about 4 different articles.

then blasted all the blogengine blogs with scrapebox, and then pinged all the sites 10 times

and 2 days later site is on page 1 for decent keyword

Yeah it's kinda cool cause it's a little more targeted to just the duplicate content topic. He's a little more weighted to the importance of unique content, but agrees that there isn't really a duplicate content penalty. At least not in the all encompassing manner that a lot of people worry about.

I like this thread because aside from making the point that duplicate content doesn't need to be an issue, you're giving a quick method that someone can set up to start making money.

I like the simplicity of it so I'll be picking a niche and setting up a test site to try this out for soon.

Riddle me this. I have always tried to write all my own unique content (or manually re-write a good article so it is fairly unique).

What if I were to copy and past 200 quality posts from my niche from a top article directory with no rewriting. Removing any other links.

Then blasting each page with links and bookmarks...

this would give my site lots of pages of content with lots of links coming in.

Is there any downside to this?

Yes made some different comments dropped in a link and anchor to my site and blasted away, as of today still on page 1 but dropped a place.

Well according to what seems to be happening i think you can only gain importance and even take over your competitors.
