32-bit Bots on 64-bit Win7?

Hey, I just bought a new laptop and it has Win7 64-bit. Its fast and awesome, but some bots, keygens etc don't work on 64 bit
I get the "XXX Has stopped working, windows is checking blah blah.." Type of message when I try to run it. Is there anything I can do to run these progs?
Btw, this is only for those programs that you don't have to install, like power submitter.

i use VMware with xp for some of the software. You should try that too

That shouldn't be the case typically with x32 running on x64. I'd look to it being more related to Win7 itself or outdated .net drivers. Another possibility is try opening the 'properties' for the application and running it in a different compatibility mode.

It works on my other laptop that has win 7 32-bit.. and I did try all of the compatibility modes in properties already.

alot of stuff has that problem...
if it doesnt have more than 4gb of ram just install windows 7 32 bit... your license key is valid for both.

Just launch them as Admin. Also, some cracks may need to be placed in the same folder as the target application.

It's nothing to be scared of, it's just the way Windows 7 works.

windows architecture doesn't really help much in 64 bit environment.
Go with unix based OS if you want to go 64/128 bit... But IM tools are coded for windows.
thats why am learning so I can use linux without switching to linux every now and then

Yes, Windows is slowly adopting the file privilege level type concept which unix/linux has been using for years. That is the reason why unix/linux is more secure.

Turn the UAC off first. then run whatever you need to run. don't forget that the best programs run BEST in xP.. so a copy of vmware with xp on it should work good

Some points:
- If a program is using a 32 bit library (mostly .dll) and the 64 bit OS is not providing that dll then it won't work. You can either provide that library yourself or start using virtual machines as Ivsniper says. It has only advantages, security and compatibility being nr. 1 and 2 respectively.

- Windows is working just fine in 64 bit environment, there a very few 128 bit CPUs. The greatest advantage for a normal user is the increased amount of supported RAM (above 4GB). Windows has a limit there, up to a terabyte or so depending on the flavor. Some Linux based system can theorteically support the maximum (16 Exabytes) but the motherboard will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and the computer will use megawatts of electricity.

- Linux is not more secure than Windows, it is just locked down by default (less user friendly). Windows is not less secure than Linux, it is just not locked down by default (more user friendly). Change the defaults and you'll have the reversed situation. Unlocked Linux is actually easier to hack into than Win 7 with the defaults after a fresh install.
